Re: The new UO

well whoopy, it looks like ea has taken uo out of 1990 and took it stright to 1995 with the diablo look alike graphics.while i do admit its a huge improvement in looks its still not up to par with todays pay to play mmorpgs. welp i guess you made my mind up for me whether to stick it out on uo or keep progressing on WoW. im not paying $15 a month for a mid 90's clone. i dont think uo can deliver what players want anymore and their time has passed and is soon to come to an end. look at the large population loss when the newer mmorpg's came out (mainly WoW) and i just cant see uo going back to the way it was in its prime.
goodbye and good luck to all my old friends and to all you newbies i have one piece of advice, unless your a retro arcade fan youll like WoW better.
farewell and ill see most of you in Azeroth soon

So WoW is adding player-owned housing and communities, and is taking levelling out?

I doubt very much the devs and EA would go to all the trouble they are just to make the game look like some 90's upgrade.I guess Ill be staying around till its actually up and running before making my mind up one way or another

Re: The new UO

Graphics are an important part of a game, but i have bought and played my share of game that looked great but played like junk and offered nothing. I am happy w/ the graphics upgrade. Not the best I have seen but much better than they are now. As long as gameplay improves, then I am here for the longhall. For those people who complain about upgrading their systems; Nintendo went out a long time ago...lol.... a 90's system plays 90's games. You don't have to have the greatest system in the world; just a system that will let you enjoy all aspects of the game w/o complaint.

Re: The new UO

Kingdom Reborn's new engine means they can put it back into a shops top shelf and not be ashamed of the graphics shown on the back though - which combined with bragging about being a decade in action has to sucker someone out there into buying it and starting. Thus I think its good

WoW is cool, I played for about 10 months and got 2 level 60's (and many midlevels) and got real bored with the content and have canceled my account and still have my 2 UO accounts. I may go back to WoW eventually but have every intention of sticking with UO. The new graphics look like a good compromise from the 2D client. Have fun with Wow...I know it didn't last for me.

Re: The new UO

Any screenshots of it? I can't hit any of the other good sites from work here.... I remember the release of the 3D client before, and that was HORRIBLE. But I been spoiled lately with EQ graphics.

Re: The new UO

I'm a Beta EQ player, Played on Karana for the longest time b4 it merged with The Rathe server. But I lost intrest in EQ after playing UO cause there were just more to do in UO that was less group oriented. With EQ if you don't have a party you pretty much don't have a game unless you want to Druid or Beastlord it up :/, I play a warrior as my main character and lets just say you can't do anything in EQ without a healer if you're a warrior cause you can't heal durring combat with EQ like you can in UO. UO is more Warrior friendly.
