new puter

I am getting a new computer with a dvd burner and tv tuner...was wondering if i will be able to hook up a VCR to the tv tuner and make
dvd copies of old home movies and stuff on vhs ? And if so what type of software should i get to do this?

Having played around with this type of thing in the past I can give you some advice here:

1 - like the guide says dont run ANYTHING at the same time as doing any of this stuff

2 - be prepared for lots of setting changes and software fiddling

3 - be prepared to fail a few times before hitting the magic formula

4 - be prepared to leave things running overnight

5 - have lots of patience and time in the early attempts

I came to the conclusion that a plug-and-play system would be better personally for me than trying to use a PC. [Mainly down to my pc puting power and my lack of patience and general n00bishness]
