Re: New player here - Some questions..

I had a really nice black ceramic tile roof last summer, but since I am such a space hog, I really NEEDED my roof space back as a usable floor. My solution is always to make my roof a garden area .. it gets boring, but my house is always soooo stuffed full and I really don't want to just keep everything stacked up in boxes, so I use all available floors. I put a low wall around it too, cause falling off roofs is not fun.

When you go into the custom mode to fix your house...you go up to the second floor. Sounds like a dumb thing to say...but...no...alot of people like myself didn't know to do this at first. Place a floor in if you want. Then go to your roofs option. Now when you place the roof tiles, you will notice numbers by the roof tile you select.....those numbers are important. For example...if you are going to place a roof on the south side, for example, and you have to go up the roof with three rows, then the tile that is on the edge of the house has to be set at the number 2, not 1, for it will slip through the house and show all funny like. Next row, choose the roof tile, but set the number at 3, and set your tiles in that roof all across that way. Then next row, set number at 4, and so on. Down the middle set a row of common roof connectors or whatever they are called, and then work the other side. Its important to note, that the perspective is all illusion, and thus, when you are setting the tiles down for the other side, you may need less rows, so place your numbers on the tile selector accordingly.

Re: New player here - Some questions..

i have a nice traditional straw roof on my log cabin (home made!) at the moment.. if you mess around with the tiles you'll find a good way to make them go eventually i did it by trial and error.. also if you leave a space around the edge on the floor below it generally in my opinion looks better than if your to the edge there..

with that template i would point the arrow next to swords and necro down then make a ninja.. I'ld suggest getting a dagger or kryss and killing things either there or in the waste in tukuno (go to a moongate when you get off ice island, either by catching someone before they leave or help im stucking off. When you get to the moongate you click the bottom tab at the left side (tokonu isle (i can never spell that))) then the middle one which will be on the right hand side. From there you follow the wallalong to the lefthand side of your screen then follow the road left again till you find a path leading up into the mountains.the entrance to the waste and a little further in is always good for new players because of the deathwatch beetle hatchlings and the abundance of orcs to the right hand side of the waste, i wouldnt go to the lefthandside yet as the skele knights are kinda hard. In tokuno if you have some gold find a ninja in the city (around the moongate i just told you hot to get through) then buy a spellbook from them..

Make sure you mark a rune to where you placed your house so you can get back to it via recall.
