The new patch message

Anyone know anything about this?

My question is, did they just delete the items in the banned accounts? Or do they have some way to detect a duped item and delete them. My only worry is that if someone bought a duped item without knowing, and then had that item deleted, they just lost out big time.

I would be very happy to see the items on those two vendors in luna atlantic be empty when the servers get back up.

Just pulled this off Stratics. It's a reply from Wilki on the situation.

"Well, allow me to head off the "I was banned for having one item" type of posts now.

We didn't target players who bought a duped item or three. These are people who were actually duping, or who were selling a lot of duped items. While they might not have duped themselves, that doesn't excuse the fact that they were spreading this garbage throughout the game, or that everyone knows where those 100 high end items in the same loaction in a bag came from. You'll probably see some well known Luna vendor houses and item sellers/brokers suddenly be "out of stock."

Also, shrouds are a whole other project. But maybe you'll now believe me when I say that we will be taking care of the issue :-) "

Wilki was playing for a long time before he ever worked for EA. I truly believe he knows how much duping has hurt the game over the years.
