New books are terrible

The old books were so cool (I tried UO years ago-beta tested actually) and I really enjoyed the books. The new interface for books is so ugly and awkward that i can't even read anymore...kind of a shame.....it's too bad that the devs think they need to take some steps back in some areas in order to go forward in others.....napsacks and other containers are very much harmed by the new client...it's too bad they seem to think they need to clone WOW in this regard....

Yea thats a thorn in the side of UO. I really wish they will change the containers with the "backpack look", i.e. no gold square that has stuff in it. No other game did it ever, and its one of the many atous of the game. And books? Every time i write in book in uo2d I get the feelign im actually writing on a book

I hope they will change it back.

The books have been one of my favorite things about my home on UO. I have had a library ever since I discovered books were in the game, years ago! The abilty to enjoy laying out my packs and chests.. and create my library and fill it with books I discover is one of my greatest enjoyments. .... It's a thorn all right. a huge, hulking infected thorn that will cause self amputation of some folks.

Even though it's been said several times before, it seems like people don't know...if you click the gold dot next to the backpack icon, it will change to a legacy-style view of your backpack. Can we at least TRY to be informed before hating on KR?

What has this to do with the books ? But wait, if that works for books, too, it would rock.

I think that KR could gain from user-interface-templates.

Yea but even the free style backpac in KR is no good cause the items show so small i need a magnifying lense to see whats what. The items show way too small. The wow-style interface of kr is not attractive.period. and so is the new freestyle backpack.

There are many Gumps that have lost their unique style in KR, Bulliton boards, books, virtues the crafting menus, and many others. It like they are making the game more generic so they can easily add things, its all just a square gump/menu.

Old style backpack and do bigger graphics for the items. Current ones are so tiny whiny that cant even see them..

well seems like the bigger items in the back pack issue has been solved with the patch i think. Still i havent loggedin to check it
