Hello,
I am new to this game and would like to try to get into it but I am having
a problem finding reagents for my spells. I don't want to have to run around picking them up for hours on end. I would like to buy them but can't locate a shop anywhere in this starting world that sells it. Actualy all of the shops have nothing to sell. Just missions. Can someone explain this for me. Kind of getting frustrating walking around trying to find black pearls for a 1 shot fireball or lightning can't remember which one. I am trying to do the first mission for mages. "Go and kill 50 monsters with lightning and fireball and then come back to me" I think that was the quest. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the boards Drzzt. We will see what we can do to help you out. Might take a few posts though, and a few links.
First, which shard did you choose? This will help us located someone that can help you in game.

Second, You have a good point with the frustraion. I am bringing it to the attention of Jeremy, the community coordinator for the game. Since New Haven is pretty new, there are stll a few kinks to adress.

Third, there are stores there in new haven. You have to say "Vendor buy", or single right click on the mage vendor, like i did on the picture.

Fourth, you will find that it is really expensive to try to get enough reagents to gain magery. An alternative is to find armor and jewlery with "Lower Reagent Cost (LRC)" on it. The higher, the better. Once you hit 100% total between all your pieces, you will no longer need reagents at all. Ask for help from veteran players.

O.k. I am using the new KR client and it seems to be the problem. I have noticed the following problems since I started:

1. Started with not being able to select any other race then human.

2. Got killed by zombies in tutorial and couldn't get to my corpse behind iron gate while I was a ghost.

3. Don't have the right click option on shop keepers. Only double left click which opens paper doll or opens quest invitations. When I right click my guy just moves over to the shop keeper. I use the right click to move around in the game.

I tried looking for control settings to see if I have that right click set right but couldn't find it. I tried re-installing the client. I tried a differ shard. Maybe I have a bad download from Fileplanet??

I can't remember which shard I am on right now and can't check right now because I am at work.

Oh, and currently I am on trial..not paying yet. Just wanted to see how the game was. I don't know if there is a time limit for KR beta or not though.

Any thoughts on my above situation Paul. Should I try to get help from Tech support?

P.S. A guy in the game told me to left click once to get menu which didn't work. This news of right click is new to me. I'm pretty sure I tried it but will verify tonight.

Did you try Verbal Command? "Vendor buy" should work.

Have you reported these issues using the main menu?

I personally think you should switch to the 2D client until they work the bugs out a little more. Why on earth they are letting new accounts do a beta I am not sure. It is obvious that you are experiencing extreme frustration. It WILL get better, as we progress towards gold release on the new client.

To other people not perma crashed on KR: can anyone help him out with buying reg info?

2d Client Might Be The Bast Starting Point For You ...might Also Be More Enjoyable

Shift-right click is the method to get the vendor context menu up in KR.

First of all:

Welcome to the game. As you probably know, this new client is still in beta, so there are still a lot of bugs. Anyhow, it IS possible to buy reagents with KR. You have to hold shift and right-click. Simple right clicking does not work. I hope they change that.
I should say, that there also still is a problem with scrolling in vendor shops.

What you should do, is:
Buy reagents for starters, then kill monsters and loot them (try holding crtl+shift if double-clicking doesn't open the corpses for looting). Check all corpses for items with lower reagent magic on them, so you need less and less reagent over time.

Help from other players in them game might further confuse you, if they are not using the KR-Client, because a lot of the Interace changed. So check if they are using the same client or just ask us here

All I can say is WOW. Talk about first class forum help in here.. If this is any indication of the kind of people that are playing this game, which I believe it is, then I am going to enjoy this game.

Also, thanks for the tips with Reagent saving items and checking corpses. I would never have thought of that.

I will consider going to the 2d but was drawn to this game with the Kingdom Reborn in mind. I used to play Dungeons and Dragons Online so I am used to nice graphics for my MMORGP.

Since you are a D&D type (most of us were at one point), I should warn you that there are no such things as classes or alignment. Don't let the skill titles (like chivlary or necromancy) lead you astray. YOu want a macer with magery and animal taming? you can do it (not recommended, but you CAN).

Just thought of this - there is also a known issue with scroll bars in KR (such as, in the vendor list of items). That might be why you don't see reagents in the list - because the list won't scroll down.

I've read that you can use your mouse scroll wheel to make the scroll bar work, but that did not work for me.
