This is the problem ... people are making taming attempts and others are ruining it for them. The taming competition is fierce ... but fair. But killing it or breaking the tame purposefully is very annoying.

He absolutely kicks butt , a little slow against OL's but still won. He casts ALOT.
These are his starting stats , they went up alot with just a 1/2 hour training (yeah unbonded, i know im stupid).

Highest str I have now is 555 unblessed and highest int is 161 unblessed.

These have HUGE stat ranges.

I think the phys is maxed at 75 and fire at 40 though.

maybe max resists are 75/40/40/60/60?

I have been taming them all week and giving them away. Some people are total jerks though as I have found out the more I tame. Last night I was in Fel. I was the only one there. I bolas'd a Vanguard and went through the trouble of dragging the horse to the gate for taming. Well, 4 attempts in a guy with a GD recalls in, walks over to where I am in the process of taming, and sends his GD in to attack the horse... Needless to say, I have VERY little respect for the ROC guild on Baja now. Pathetic members, seriously.

I did get revenge though. After filling my empty slots up in the stables, I logged over to my archer to kill some Vanguards and I caught the same guy who killed the one I was taming trying to tame one. So of course, me not being a virtuous, turn the other cheek person. I killed it, then proceeded to interupt any attempt at taming one he tried, and let others do as they pleased. He got really angry. It was amusing. >.<

Funny thing is I have given almost 12 of the horses away for free to people who just ask for them.

People who do stuff like this ROC fellow are just jerks. :/ I won't be helping any of their members anytime soon.

generally, dread horses are the new regular dragon, although, most useful on a peacemaker template. if you use a mare and a dread horse, the firebreath damage adds up. a dread horse is going to do more damage than a regular dragon will, at the 3 slot. but if you try to fight a necro with a warhorse, ew. not gonna be pretty. without any sort of pack instinct, the mare/dread horse combo is not all that great. but, given the 75 phys of the dread horse, they make for decent tanks against 100% phys only creatures, or, with 60 poison resist, they could tackle such things as mummies, or Flesh Renderers, with relative ease.

overall, cu sidhes are the best mount for fighting, and greater dragons are the best for tanking. the best pet to use against the controller is probably going to be a white wyrm or a cu sidhe, for damage, but the greater dragon will tank better. so it depends on what kind of offense you want to do.

FYI for anyone interested on skill level to tame one of these.

I was told by another player that the skill to tame one was 102 at the beginning of the vangard attacks. I tried several times to tame one at 102 taming 100 lore but only got death in return as "you anger the beast". A friend tried to transfer one to me and it would not transfer.

I bumped my lore and taming up to 103 taming/102 lore and tried again. After only angering the beast & dieing again someone tried to transfer one to me several times and it would not transfer.

At 104 taming/ 103 lore same results.

At 105 taming/ 104 lore one finally transfered after several attmepts. I still could do nothing but anger the beast when I tried to tame one & my transfered one will not obey me at this level.

At 107 taming/ 104.7 lore it still will not obey me & I have still not gotten a "you start to tame the creature"

I was having the same results...lore must be over gm and it took 12 attempts to transfer the warhorse to me. But eventually it did transfer. I was at 102 lore and 104 taming.

Hope this helps. I have a newbie tamer and I wore a +13 taming ring, + 13 taming, +11 lore barcelet and a +5 lore and taming tally to get my stats high enough to take the warhorse. I have not tried to tame one myself yet. But I am VERY glad to say he is bonding in the stables as we speak.

And I have to thank all my guild friends for letting me borrow all the trinkets i did to own one.
