Well tonite is a very sad nite for me. I had this toon i've been waiting to dlete for a few day now but had the 7 day timer on. So i boot up KR thinking i'll give it another shot.
Before I log in i see "Bardman" i think damn i need to delete him. I click his name a couple times, it didn't highlight didn't think much of it. click delete and i asked me if i wanted to, clicked yes. Well to my suprise my main character was deleted For $%^& sakes i thought.
So i contacted EA (haven't heard back) And i thought damn i was sure i clicked bardman. Was damn sure clicked a few times. Thing is KR does not let you know what ur deleting. And i took screenshots to prove this.





Would have been nice to know...So it boils down to what EA can do for me. All my cash was on him. If nothing can be done, guess I have to quit. Tho I was looking forward to KR. Anyone any insight on this.

As far as I know they do not replace delete items. Never have, again as far as I can remember.


Umm, why would you use a beta client to access or play around with char deletion on a live shard?

Talk about a major bug.

Hope they can do something for you Chirker, it would be sad to lose another player because a stupid bug like that which should have never existed in the first place.

This is one of the reasons why if I were testing KR, I'd only do it on Test or with a brand new character on a shard I don't play.

True, like I said, I'd never do it.

You'd think they would at least have the loggon screen working, they did say you can use your normal shard to play KR. Why not have the same Warning like hey ur gunna delete Bardman or another character (2d does). And KR is in open beta, meaning the general UO population is and can use it. Why not come into the next generation and do simething liek make u type in ur characters name. If i did this with 2d i'd understand. But i did it in KR and was not clarified what character was being deleted. If it doesn't work or don't want people accidentally deleting thing, disable the deleting option on KR till it works so people are not deleting the wrong toon.

If nobody tried to delete a character with KR yet, then it wouldn't have been reported as a bug. It's not really a bug (not getting the character's name in there), just an oversight on the part of whoever designed that dialog box. It's functioning as intended, but for user friendliness, it really should tell you which character is slated for deletion.

EA has never been known to restore deleted items in the past. Hopefully they will be more lenient on you, considering KR is beta.

Advice for everyone else - do not do important stuff with important characters on your home shards in KR while it is in beta. Do all of that important type stuff on test centers if you want to use KR, or with 2D. Why risk losing stuff?

Update, this is what i got

Fear not. Deleting a soldier only removes him from your client. Any soldiers you create can be recalled to active duty at any time. First make sure you have one of your four available slots open for your soldier. Then select the “create a new soldier” option and enter in your inactive soldier’s name. This will recommission the soldier for active duty as well as all stats and unlocks associated with him.

Sounds like a complete different game he's thinking of. "unlocks" doesn't sound very UO, nor does "soldier" Good luck.
