I have one slot left on my 6 slot acct, and I really want a Bard

I have a few ideas, but I just can't decide...

1. Pure Bard
120 Discordance
120 Musicianship
120 Peacemaking
120 Provocation
110/115 Magery
110/115 Meditation
0-20 Anything Else (Depending on Mage skills)

Useful for PvM, but no eval, so Mind Blast and EV's would be my bffs ;)

2. Bard/Swordsman
110-120 Swords
110-120 Tactics
120 Musicianship
120 Provocation
120 Peacemaking
120/80 Chivalry
0-60 Anything Else (Depending on other skills)

Very useful for ANY PvM, but no Discordance.

110-120 Magery
110-120 Meditation
120 Musicianship
120 Provocation
120 Peacemaking
110-120 Evaluating Int
0-30 Anything Else (Depending on other skills)

Hits hard with spells, EV's, Flamestrikes, anything Magic would SMACK hard, but no Discordance, again.

I'd vote, but really, it depends on what you plan to do with this char.

Although I agree that it really depends on what the character will be used for, I went ahead and voted for template 3.

The only problem I personally have with a pure bard is that the 3 different skills aren't on their own individual reuse timers. They really should be, or at least have disco on it's own and keep peace/provo together. I wanted to make a pure bard once myself and tried it out on the test server, and I just found it hard to make use of all 3 skills because of the universal skill delay.

Best advice I can give is test them out for yourself, see which seems the most appealing.

I did try the 2nd template switching Disco/Provo around a couple times, and ended up with what u see there
Although I haven't tried the other temps, I know how to play a mage (the first chara I made) and the Swords temp, so it would just be the difference of Swords or Magery, and I haven't tried a FULL bard yet, but I would believe them very effective, cast EV's provoke them on the drags, peace and disco drags, and provoke drags on one another. And same with swoops, only swoop on paragon cu sidhe, instead of drag on drag, or even regular cu sidhe on swoop.

Oh yeah I didn't mean anything against template 2, I've just always been a mage fan. My main point was pure bard vs hybrid bard.

Also I was just thinking, if you did end up going mage you might not really need peacemaking as much since you will have invis. Template 3 with provo and disco could be pretty potent.

Hmm... That is true.

Well, my hons bard has Discordance, Magery and Spellweaving. It´s a very, very strong template and also usable for champ spawns and a little pvping if some pks come along.
Usually though he´s a good help when we do peerless - and we´ve done somewhere around a thousand of them (yeah, how sad is that *sighs*).

So that might also be an idea, or use the Disco/Provo Mage - see a lot of those in doom.
