Most efficient way of raising magic resist?

What I did just now is:
I went to New Haven, and engaged the biggest number of those ghostly creatures that roam around the ruins of old Haven.
Packed them together and run around them. I got from 30 to 90 in no more than 4 hours gameplay, divided by 4 days, because I get bored real quick *grins*

If you got 100 in resisting spells, can you only resist the spells you gain off? I see no point in going to 100+ if you only can resist weaken, clumsy and those fiddlespells :p

No, you can still gain off of spells you resist.

i.e. If you cast Weaken on yourself, but don't get weakened, you can gain. Or if you resist a spell someone/something casts at you, you can gain.

Ah what i ment was, can you resist lightning and fireballs and stuff when you get to 100 or do you just resist weaken, clumsy etc?

Oh, yeah, can't resist any damage attack.

Magic Resist will lessen the effects of weaken/clumsy/curse/mana vamp/paralyze/etc. and can resist poison completely, but does not have any effect on damage spells (unless you count giving armor resistance as lessening damage effects, but you should have better resistances through your armor than what Magic Resist can get you).

I don't care how else you are thinking of training it cause this is by far the best way to do it. I'm at 107.7 and still gaining off of these.

Wow...I can't believe how well this worked. Went to Ol'Haven, got about 15-20 Spectral Spellbinders to chase me around the forest. I timed it: 40 to 100 in 5 hours!! And as long as I don't let them get close enough to me, I never get hurt in the process.

During these 5 hours, my strength also rose from 80 to 115. I didn't know your strength gets checked every time you use resisting spells?
