Monster Targeting

I was running around on my swordsman killing dullcopper elementals and i noticed that if i was slightly around the corner i couldn't target them but their could be a something taking up half the screen and they would target me and walk all the way around it to attack me. Has it always been this way or is this something new? Im not trying to make a big deal out of this im just wondering.

Re: Monster Targeting

Been that way for as long as I can remember...some reason you cant tell a pet to attack something it cant see, but when something it cant see targets it, it goes wild....

Re: Monster Targeting

I think "going wild" means moving back and forth trying to find a way to attack the aggressor. If they mean it actually goes wild. Never had that happen either.

Re: Monster Targeting

Players must have direct line of site to target monsters; however monsters can target through a wall or cave go figure.

Re: Monster Targeting

Maybe this will be fixed in the expansion? That would be nice.

Re: Monster Targeting

I dont think its much of a problem. In fact I wouldn't mind seeing similar monsters react and help similar monsters. I'm up for the challenge.

Re: Monster Targeting

Ah yes, shouldve been more clear. I didnt mnean that the pet would lose loyalty or tamed status, simply that they froth at the mouth and bash their head against the barrier attempting to get at what is targeting them....

That would be some excellent graphics to add to UO. Perhaps someone on the Dev team can take a break from Deco items and make this happen.
