Monster Curses MASSIVLY beefed.

Has anyone else noticed this... Check our your resist, they are now capped like player curses.

I wonder if this is bug or intentional.

If you are not for sure what I am talking about; when a player curses you, you resist caps on elementals drop by 10 (ie fire, poison, cold resist caps are 60 resist instead of 70).

Anyways, going from 70 to 60 resist is a 33% damage increase from monster's elemental side. (instead of doing 30% base they are doing 40% base, a 33% increase)

Wow, yes that would be very significant, I have a solo-capable Samurai as you do, and that would really put a damper on things. I suppose 3/6 or 4/6 casting becomes even more important for those fast remove curses. Hmm.

Intentional I hope (if it is the case, have not tested), its a bout time the AI got a beef up, this would be a good start.

I think this is a good thing; it gives enchanted apples a market again and also enhances the level of challenge against (especially high-end) mobs, tested it on rune beetles and noticed that now, once I curse them, they will try to bless themselves almost immediately (if they're not casting offensive spells) to offset the stat loss.

I don't know if this happened as such before, but it's frequent enough now it seems they're trying to counter the curses.

Also, not carrying apples was pretty detrimental because my defenses were ripped open by the armor corruption, and the curse double-whammy.

I'm going to test out cursing and attacking some things to see if the armor resist debuff works against the monsters casting it, the same way it does on players.

Time to fire up my chef and make a bag full of apples, if anyone needs any I'll be setting up a part-time-stocked apple vendor on my front porch in the next couple of days, discounted prices for all .

Yeah, now all they need to do is move skill scrolls to Tramm so PvMers don't have to kill mobs and players...

im not sure i get the OP's post. I guess instead of dropping from 70 to 60 fire, you're saying we drop maybe to 58? or something...sure corpse skin wasnt in the mix?

The OP was talking about monster's curses. I don't think they dropped resists before, just stats but now they seem to drop your resists as well. I am not sure though. I did notice that the resists drop by -17% on my none spell resisting char.

Also, my comment about scrolls dropping in Tram wasn't a joke. I believe the scrolls, the actual implementation and the way it was done is one of the worst things ever done to UO. Its no more challenging in most cases to get scrolls in Fel as it would be in Tram.

Well, champs is pretty much all we have to fight for in Fel, otherwise it's just Yew Gate. No thank you to that! Unless they can seriously improve factions. But then, all there would be is factions, and no other PvP. I suggest you PvP some, it's fun. Getting scrolls isn't that hard. Most guilds drop 110s to the ground, and 110 is enough to PvP with to get higher.

Anyhow, if monsters are dropping resists -17, that's pretty funky.

No offense to legit pvpers, but I'd rather drag my dieing body through hot coals and battery acid before bothering to pvp in Feluhacca.

Just last night I caught a red outside of destard that was obviously afk, as I recalled in with my GD and he just sat there. I decided, since his guild was an enemy of mine, to kill him. I stuck my GD on him, who immediately tore into him, then... his health froze at about 3% and the next thing I know he recalled away, and nearly instantly recalled back with full health and started attacking me.

No thanks. When EA starts banning third party app users, I might decide to pvp again. Until then its a waste of my time. Actually, I don't want them to ban them, I'd rather have them strip them of all items, gold, and skills and just leave naked characters on their accounts with a pink fufu gift box with various anti-Cheater cakes in them that can't be dropped and while your account has one on any character you can't gain skills or stats.

That's not technically AI...AI would be spellcasters not walking calmly right at the guy with the big sword while they cast.
