hi,

I have been changing my template to try and take on harder monsters and explore new lands which I am now happy with and have been searching round the ML dungeons and was just curious if the ML boss's are a black colour? i ask because I changed my karma from Dread to illust in painted cave fighting trogs and decided to search some further in, and found this lightning fast bear like paragon speed "Grobo" is it? killed him and got some fur, and then lurg? who was black and had plenty of hp and was kinda tough, now I killed him and the loot wasn't great, granted i didn't have my luck suit on but i have no idea if it works like tokuno treasure in the way that there is a chance they have good items.. and these are my 2 questions?

1) are they black? because i got my butt kicked in the Labyrinth by Ren? or something like that, I saw this black Reptalon and thought oooo what is that, well that wasn't one of my most intelligent idea's and It didn't take him long to munch through my armour let me have a nice collection of death robes... (and he was Black like Lurg)

and

2) is it down to luck armour? or does it work like tokuno treausres in the way there is only a % chance of finding a good item? or maybe I am well off and they don't give items? as you can see i don't have a clue...

The chances are I am miles off and they are not even boss's just them being black confused me and got me thinking

They can be labeled ML mini-bosses. Mostly, they are referred to as named monsters.

Don't know why they are black, not all named monsters are, but they are roughly the same as a paragon of the normal monster type, but also use special moves (some).
