Is Mining still profitable?

Hey all,

I played 5-6 years ago and played a miner as my mule. I just started back again and was wondering if mining is still profitable. It is one of the things I enjoyed quite a bit back in the day.

Yes.

Colored ore is still profitable in bulk.

Also certain new gems (randomly dug-up) are worth a pretty penny.

Mine in Fel, its peaceful and tranquil. Not much crowds either.
