Melisand'e corroded hatchet

If I'm at 90 lj and I'm using the hatchet for the +5 will I be able to chop yew? Same if I'm at 95 lj +5 from the hatchet, will I chop the other logs?

It works like mining gloves in that respect.
It also gives you a higher amount of the colored wood.
