I'm not sure if you are for or against scripting, so I thought I would ask if it was ok to post about some large multi-shard scripting operations I stumbled upon when playing Ultima Online. The biggest one is on 16 shards. They appear to be capable of making hundreds of millions of gold per day.

I tried everything I could to get rid of these cheaters, but nothing worked. I reported them to EA and all I got was generic replies back that it would be looked into, but that I would recieve no confirmation. When I paged GMs they did not show up and each time it took from 15 minutes to 3 hours and 45 minutes just to get a generic response. All the while, the cheaters just kept on operating.

I tried to post them at Stratics where they would be exposed to the public and Stratics almost instantly locked and removed the threads.

It really seems like nobody cares and everyone in power is actually protecting these cheaters rather than removing them from the game.

What is the point of playing with robots in a computer game? How can any legitimate player compete with them?

So, is this the place that cares?

To answer your question. Yes we care BUT the RoC limits what can be posted.
I do want to thank you for doing all you could to get it stopped. Just because no action was taken today by EA doesn't mean they will not do something in the future. Hopefully every player who finds illegal activity going on will report it

Hmm, that sounds like a very political answer, which is not really any answer at all.

Are just screenshots allowed - just screenshots of houses throughout Britannia that happen to look similar?

I like to go around and take screenshots of interesting houses, is it ok to share them here?

We have a place specifically to post pics of houses and such here, so yeah, it's ok to post those weird and/or interesting places you find lol.

I cannot think of one honest person in game who is neutral about scripting. I hate it. There is someone who scripts for wood by my house, and I have reported them a lot. Altho I haven't seen them lately. Either the resources change ran them off, or a GM nabbed them.

I wish they would devote a week or so to making it so scripting is caught, or fixed somehow. If they could fix scripting and devote a little bit of attention to it, like they have to KR, then I would be happy. I'm tired of being killed by someone running a speed hack while wearing tons of duped arties. I don't get upset if I get killed by someone who is just good at PvP. But when someone can walk faster on foot than I can run mounted? Just not right.

Scripting is one of those topics that is a 'hot potato' . There are those who do it and those who dont,obviously.

UOForums,tries not to get into the politics of the game,but rather provide a forum where everyone can learn,ask questions about ,and ,within reason,voice their opinions on all topics to do with the game within our RoC.

We can never be sure what EA/Mythic is doing with and for UO.

All we can do is try to present reasonable discussion,without being offensive,in a bid to get answers.

We also, post any new info/replies spotted by the EA staff.

Your point is a valid one ,and certainly merits an open discussion.

All we ask is posters remember the Forum guidelines.

We do not allow the naming of Players suspected of doing such things though,as we cannot actually effect what happens to such activities.

If you want to learn about the latest scripters... go to sanctuary on all shards and just watch... you will find it rather degrading... everyone after the goodies using an exploit... on catskills we had some "expected" surprises... which were documented for posteriority...

There is a crazy long thread going on stratics involving some hinges and multi char, multi account, multi shard gold scripter. It's pretty heated.
I know how to stop the scripter..................observe the place where he/she recalls to, place some crates and block the spot.
Either that or let PKing back into Tram. Won't be any scripters left after that..................

The scripters are actually EA staff. They got rid of scripters a while back, but they weren't on the home team. Now, the people that are in are allowed to script and that is why it is still happening today. These same people are the ones that own all the good vendor locations and most of Luna house spots. They are in cahoots!

Of course, I could be wrong....just think about it.

Its a mass conspiracy. Bad publicity still gives attention to the game and keeps people interested. Its like the Jlo and Ben Afflec thing, they faked a relationship to get more famous. I think UO is fakign a lot of problems to keep peopel complainging about the game thus giving them more attention.

Scripting has been going on since the start of UO, its simply becoming more obvious these days and thats why everyone is making a big deal about it.
Now let me ask you this, if you did not know about... Lets say the person who has been selling hundreds of BOD's on his luna vendors on each shard, would you care?

No because you dont know about it, he has been selling bulk barbed kits like that for the past year and a half, if anything people she be glad he is giving the discount to everyone instead of just the hard core pvpers who had connections.

But, you are on to something.

A certain programmed used by nearly every scripter out there is very easy to disable with a patch, but EA/UO knows that if they were to ban everyone who uses said programm, that they would lose over half of their subscriptions.

Its not worth it to do a mass banning, they would lose far to much money.
