LRC Question

I'm new to the game, and don't know much about LRC. I do know that it lets you cast mage spells without the use of regents (sp?), but when I was wearing my 100% LRC suit, it wouldn't let me inscribe without regents. What other limitations does it have? What, exactly, are all the benefits of having one?

Thanks!

Re: LRC Question

LRC affects only cast spells. Not inscription or alchemy. It allows you to cast magery, necromancy and chivalry spells with a Lower Reagent Cost, up to using no reagents at all (100%).

Re: LRC Question

What Gor said. Furthermore, another advantage is when you die (and you WILL die lol), when you are rezzed you can immediately go back to work without needing to get back to your body to get your reagents back. That's real nice when 3 dragons are guarding your body in Destard.

Re: LRC Question

What they said

Also, you can have less than 100% LRC. It can be hard to get a full LRC suit with good resists, so let's say you get a suit with good resists but only 50% LRC. You'll have a 50% chance of casting without reagents, but you'll still need to either carry some regs with you or wear arcane clothing. I like the latter, because you can insure your arcane clothing then - like jfk said - when you die, you'll be able to cast spells immediately without having to get back to your body for your reg bag. Also, some monsters will rummage through your corpse and steal your regs, leaving you helpless without LRC or arcane clothes.

(I prefer arcane robes, boots, and cloaks, because they don't take up any armor slots).

So does that mean I don't have to insure my LRC suit, since it will stay with me when I die?

You DO have to insure your LRC suit if you want it to stay with you when you die. The only items that will stay in your backpack upon death without insurance are those marked as "Blessed."
