Re: Looking to play

ack! I think I'm the "Old Man" of the group. I have been playing a veerrryyy long time and I think what UO offers more than anything else is flexibility. I have never gotten bored with the game. I may put one character aside for a bit and try out some of the other professions. but I have never put the game aside.

It also seams to have the most interaction with the game world then I have seen from some of the other games.(OK so I like mining ore, smelting ore, and then forging a new sword while sitting in me favorite chair!)

Oooo and let me just say one more thing Cow Tipping!

I Hope you join us and look forward to seeing you in game

Re: Looking to play

Welcome to the community. I truely believe that once you get settled in the game you will not want to leave. It is very true that there is a great variety of things you can do and you can change it up throughout the day. I think I"m the oldest so far as I have been playing for 95 months and there are a lot of things I still don't know. I would like to suggest finding a quild you like as this will give you some advantages over doing things alone. Quilds help making friends as well.

Here are some of the things you can do (showing the variety of the game). Have a crafter that can make wooden and metal items. Use that crafter to make armor or house decorations. There are several types of crafters - carpentry(furniture/weapons), bowcrafting(weapons/ammo), tinkering(house deco), blacksmith (armor/weapons), masonary(house deco out of stone), cook(catoring parties is fun), inscriptionist(scrolls/magic books), alchemist(potions of many kinds).

On another side of things you can make several types of fighters with a huge variety of skills and you are not locked into any particular template. Heck you can use your crafter to fight if you want to - not recommended but it's your game.

I play on Sonoma shard with Queen Mum in different guilds and we all have a blast. If you try out sonoma look up Mum or talk with any member in my guild and we can hook up. I am part of a very large guild called PAS - peoples army of Sonoma. Check us out at http://www.peoplesarmyofsonoma.net/

Hope you enjoy the game as many of us have and still do
