What would you guys reccomend I train my Lesser Hiryu's up on so that they are strong and can dismount?

Since Hiryus and Lesser Hiryus lack magic, the easiest route to GM their fighting skills would be to use a Shadow Iron Ore Elemental (miners can cause them to spawn using a Gargoyle's Pickaxe on a Dull Copper ore vein). It's boring, but the gains are more consistent than those from natural hunting/fighting.

Once the fighting skills are GM, taking the pet to the Twisted Weald to stuck pixies (pixies that spawn inside rock areas and thus can't move) for Magic Resist training will finish off the pet training.

How long do you think it will take to train up my birds?

A couple days. The shadow ellie thing works perfect. You just sit there all day long, bandaging your one pet the ellie is targetting and then occasionally feeding the animal.

I actually trained my resist by putting my bird in my house and seperating it from myself then just spammed weaken on it over and over. It gained a ton of resist doing that.

Shadow elementals are great for training pets if you have vet skills...if not you could easily get your pet killed...since you are training a lesser hiryu i would assume you don't have vet skills and are probably a bushido master..in that case just kill stuff that won't kill your pet..each time he dies he looses skills...vorpal bunnies are pretty good

I agree on the shadow elementals, when I did play, I used those for my nightmare and white wyrm

If you have a tamer friend who needs to train their pets, have them go with you and have them attack the shadow ellie first so one of their pets is the target. Then just tell ur lesser to attack the ellie and you're good to go.
