Re: KR Top Ten Issues

- In Twisted Weald: Taming and releasing Cu Sidhes causes them to drop unmovable blue backpacks with bandies in them. In the grassy area slightly south of the Swoop spawn point, backpacks created in this manner cannot be clicked on in the KR client. They are accessible in 2D - which makes me think it is related to the 'item dropping' and house decorating problems reported elsewhere. Sorry, but I didn't record geocoords for the untouchable pack.

Edit: forgot to mention that, when I try to click on the pack in KR, it says "leaves." Seems like the KR client thinks the pack is below the level of the ground.

Re: KR Top Ten Issues

WoW, I can't think of ten... hehe...

1- Dang near imposible to drop things onto the ground, I must "hang" the item from my curser in order to drop it to the ground... 1st I drop the item onto the Black area of my flexible desk top, and this causes the item to "hang" on the end of my curser... then and only then am I able to drop the item to the ground...

2- all my desk top setting are saving but the Radar map... It will always be closed the next time I log in... I would like it to remain open like all the other things on my desk top...

3- a Spinning wheel can NOT be use as a current target in a Macro... I must use the spinning wheel 1st and then use the action "curser target last", because the action "cruser target current" will NOT work...

PS:
4- sounds, while walking around, I notice skeleton sounds being player where NO skeletons were at... Oger sounds too would play, where NO Ogers were at...

5- would be nice to adjust the sound levels independantly from one another...

The rest are all graphic related...

1- while riding an eythreal unicorn, I sit realy low in the saddle, looks hokei...

2- I get a wierd screen distortion that scrolls upwards, but only on the play area... not the flexible desktop area... its the width of the play area, but only 1/2 inch tall, and it scrolls from bottom to top... but only once and awhile and only while walking... no particular direction, just start walking continually and every once and awhile this band rides up the screen... doesn't do it while I just stand there, only moving....

3- my House loads realy slowly when I step onto the property....

4- when logging in, the roof of my house is always covering me, I must move to open the roof...

Also - it would be nice to here back from Jeremy

1) If these have been seen and
2) If these are the sorts of input they're looking for

- Buff/Debuff display error. Cast Enemy of One. Attack an Evil Mage Lord. The buff icon has trouble in the second half of the text. I know that probably doesn't explain the issue well, you'll just have to reproduce it to see what I mean, sorry. Can't login at the moment to transcribe it here.

KR Top Ten Issues

Hello!

Like many others I tried UO again after several years with the new KR client. Problem is that there are weird square shaped glitches when I move that jump all over the place, like a mosaic layered over the game.

Does anyone else had this?

Im using the newest Nvidia driver and the cards are 2 x 7950 gx2

Any help would be appreciated!

Re: KR Top Ten Issues

I would say, number one : Check the UOKR bug submission report. I play it once per update, submit 20-50 bugs, and never see any fixed. So somewhere in that QA blackhole lingers about 90 or so bugs I submitted since June.

2) What is the priority of the Target Reticule? Is it a primary targetting system?
The target reticule command "hostile" is useless. It only targets the creature that is flagged on you.
Since only ONE creature shows as flagged at a time, and sometimes none do (this code is buggy already) there are times when you can be surrounded by creatures, and have NO valid targets. Now you put it on the mouse as a default? This is also counter-intuitive to monster fighting, as you do NOT want to WAIT for something to attack you before the game will allow you to attack it. Why not use color (grey or red) rather than attack flag?
The target reticule also suffers when an excessive amount of monsters / players are on screen. It will take multiple pushes of the "next" macro key (player assigned) to switch targets.

2) The wait period between crafting multiples (make all, make x amount) is too long. Why not use the already existing wait for target code (which is REALLY awesome), instead of hardcoding in pauses? UOA does not make us wait that long.

3) With make all, it does not stop when your bag is over weight. When marking quest items, this makes it possible to drop quest marked items on the ground. See my ignored exploit submission from November.

4) Gumps are oversized. The health gump alone takes up 50% more room than it does now. Can it be made scaleable?

5) Put a WEIGHT display in the life gump. The status page is so big, it occludes 30% of the screen just to see my weight. UOA can do this in the title bar by the way.

6) Fix the hiryu art. It has stubby flippers instead of wings (it IS a bird thingie yanno). The head is awesome, but the rest....UGH>. I know you SAID no art, but we reported this since Beta.....

7) Memory cache. Why must everything be redrawn when I re-enter an area? Even with the last pub, which sped up on screen movement, there is still noticeable slowdown when many objects have to be drawn.

8) Fix those darned memory leaks. After 15 minutes, I go to 100% of memory and CPU, even though all I am doing is crafting in heartwood.

9) ummm, EVERYTHING about the map. Not enough WP's to cover all the sights AND T-Map spots. That marker beacon that obscures targets on screen. The water-colored details (hey, you mean the players actually USE it to navigate?).

10) Not an art issue per se, but that blurriness still needs to be fixed.

11) Cursor accuracy. You can only click with it when the hand is in certain positions. Cursor speed, it drags so SLOWWWW across the screen. If you move the mouse too fast you lose any chance of accuracy.

KR sucks, and I would rather cut out that other persons eye than play it.

Hmm... I do not fully understand what you are saying. I think the targeting system works fine. Could you specify? (Maybe in another thread to keep this one clen?)

You know that you can drag the weight disply into a toolbar slot!? And any other stat too, for that matter.

I do I agree there a lot of thing to fix with the appearnce of the map, but it DOES look more like an actual map... And there a a lot of neat features now.

But to add some bugs too:

- The changing colors of the icons in the paperdoll slots when clicking certain items.

- The fact that the map, paperdoll and inventory close every time I log out.

Re: KR Top Ten Issues

Merion, For number 2, please try it out in the conditions I described. Get yourself surrounded by monsters, and using the target hostile command, try to target each one. You will only be able to attack one. AND as soon as you DO attack it and kill it, there will be nothing left on screen flagged on you, even though you are still being attacked.

As to the weight display. There is a practical limit to the number of tool bar slots. If the macroes actually worked as well as UOA or even the legacy client, I would have them filled up. In that sense, why should I waste a slot in my tool bar for something that can easily be in my status bar?

As to the map, versmillitude is NOT a factor in UO gaming. Otherwise, you would parry with your shield BEFORE you parry with your weapon. That being the case, as a player I do not want a map that is like a real one. I want one that shows me CLEARLY where I am, and the obstacles in my way to get to where I want to go. You know, kinda like UOAM does now. Or even the legacy client map, which has gotten even more detailed than the UO:KR map.
As to the neat features, I would (again as a player), prefer features that WORKED, rather than a handful of partially finished features. For instance, waypoints are only partially finished. Icons are only partially finished.

My overarching point is that KR lacks the functionality of any of the Third party programs it was purportedly meant to obviate.

Re: KR Top Ten Issues

Ok, understood your number two now. Never had a prob with it, other that it always targets my EVs first, what is kind of annoying.
Concerning the weight thing: how are the number of toolbar slots limited? Ok, at some point your screen is full of toolbars, but I think I use at least 7 toolbars with all in all about 40 slots on my screen. And I could always squeeze in another one with, say, 3 slots in. Maybe for weight, gold, and followers. But I think thats a thing of personal preferences.

Well, I think we should let this thread get back to its original intention.
My overall point is: Come on, give it a chance. Is actually has quite a lot of functionalities of UOA. Not all of themobvious, thats true. It requires a different style of play, but now that I got used to it, there are a lot of feature I dont wanna miss (right-click looting ftw!). But hey, everybody as they want...

I have seen lots of posts that folks say they have no issues running other current MMO games but are unable to run KR for one reason or another.

I know this doesnt exactly give you something to work on for a quick fix but that is why a game company hires developers and testers.
The only feedback I can give is that it is too slow for me to play it enough to have any other feedback...

Oh, and the hand cursor sometimes misplaces the click point... So it's "Click the button with invisible cursor" minigame time...
It's like the tip of the mouse goes from the finger of the hand cursor to some other obscure area so i have to move the mouse veeeery slowly waiting for the button to glow so i can click it.

And for some reasons some options simply don't save, specially the graphics ones...

Hope you guys do something about the minimum specs... I can play WoW at 60fps when I tweak it, KR is still too heavy...
Don't make me play WoW... please... that thing is boring.
Specially now I got two friends to come back to UO (from WoW!)

Oh, yes:
Compaq Notebook
AMD Turion 2ghz
512MB RAM - (Sharing with video - NVidia GeForce Go 6150)

Now get cracking!
