KR Top Ten Issues
Happy new year, everyone! I've got another one of those feedback-gathering posts for ya - we're looking for the top ten complaints about KR, with the following conditions:
- We're specifically looking for bugs, broken features, stuff that exists but doesn't work - not so much stuff that's entirely missing. - This list is going to Derek, our engineer - so art complaints, while useful to know about in general, aren't specifically what we want right this moment. - Feedback that isn't based on the currently live build isn't helpful - please don't post stuff that we fixed already! - "KR sucks and I'd cut out my left eye rather than play it, ever" isn't helpful either. Jeremy/Engineering Gurus:
From my own gameplay experience and lurking these forums, I'd have to put KR crashes at the top of the list. The list of alleged causes is long, but first-hand I've seen crashes caused by: - Paragons spawning - Monsters spawning while EV spell is precast and the targeting cursor is up - Changing the user interface appearance, adding macros, etc and then playing for any appreciable amount of time without first logging off then logging back in - Simultaneous with server generated messages telling me I've been awarded an artifact in the anti-virtue dungeons Other issues: - Drag a stack of bandies onto a macro slot. Open your bank box while it contains another stack of identically-colored bandages. KR will now reflect the *total* number of bandies instead of what you're carrying on your person and most of the time won't let you use any at all. This is the same for most stackable, usable items. - 99% of the time I log in, I see the highest graphic level instead of the graphics appropriate for the level of the structure I'm standing on. This is fixed as soon as you move your toon, but annoying. - Possibly related to above, I cannot see the topmost locked-down paragon chest on a stack of four in my Keep. It's there in 2D. - If you accidentally trigger a cursor pop-up (to rename your pet) on the "Pets" pet health bar, you cannot use any macro hot keys. This is a feature, but deadly and annoying. Recommend a right-click, "rename pet" option only. - Even the most carefully constructed macros often break after a few uses, particularly ones involving "last object/last target." This is not because the tool/resource wears out. - Frequently, BOD books on vendors do not display text correctly. Instead, every line of text is overlayed on a single line of display. All the buttons at the bottom of the gump are blank when this happens. Not every vendor BOD book does this, don't know the reason. - Potions are stackable! Huzzah! What about arcane gems and similar things? More to come as I think of them. Say the word when you're ready to receive art complaints. Oh yeah, sorry: Dell XPS gaming laptop running: Intel Core 2 Duo 7700s Vista Home Premiun 32-bit 4GB RAM Dual 256-MB GeForce 8800MT My system setup is the future. - Duplicate toolbars. Create a new toolbar by right-clicking and selecting the appropriate menu item. Fill the new toolbar with icons. Right-click the *new* toolbar and make another new toolbar. This one will be a duplicate of the one you just made that does not work and cannot be edited. And - surprise! - the one you duplicated no longer works.

How about simply making the game stable with minimum configuration specs.
There are still lots of folks that have min config and just above systems that are not able to start the game or maybe they can log in but the mouse if very laggy or the rest of the game is running with what apears to be lots of lag. I have seen lots of posts that folks say they have no issues running other current MMO games but are unable to run KR for one reason or another. I know this doesnt exactly give you something to work on for a quick fix but that is why a game company hires developers and testers. |

First of: KR has been running stable, lag free and without any crashes for months now with me. Just to start with a bit of positive feedback :-)
Offhand I can think of the following: - It's very hard to drop thing on the floor. I remember that you put in a fix for that quite a while ago. It did get a lot better then, but I got the feeling it went worse sometime along the last patches. - The bandage thing Magister describes quite well. That's a real game breaker - either you leave your bandies at your house or you log out every time you restock at the bank. - The new crafting gump is sweet, really loving it. There is one letdown though - when I say "make number X" or "make max", he stops crafting as soon as he fails. The lazy bum . He should keep on crafting nonetheless!- When making macros that include speech and result in a targeting cursor (most popular would be "all kill" here), I can't set a target (self, current, cursor) as I can with any other macro. - I'm not sure it this is an art prob or not, but sometimes when I recall (this mostly happens when recalling back to my home near luna from haven) there a still tree showing all over the screen where they don't belong. These artefact seem to come from the place where you make a short transit when recalling. Don't know how to describes this, but in KR, when I recall I am briefly placed on the sea, in a wood or elsewhere, before reaching my destination. That's all I can think of now. I'll be back tomorrow when I had time to play a bit and pay attention. They will be probably a few other things I'll notice. I DO think KR was a great job though. Keep it up! PS: I know, no art complains, but... can't anybody keep those giant beetles from twitching? It hurts me eyes ![]() |

Bugs:
- KR often crashes randomly, one seemingly frequent incident is when you cast Poison Field on yourself - Recalling when there's a lot of on-screen "bubble" text results in some of the text permanently staying on the screen. Recalling again does not fix the problem, and it requires a full re-boot of the client - Unsure if this is intended, but for tradeskills, when you select "Make Max," and you fail at creating an item, the cycle stops making the KR Tradeskill Menu useless for mass-creating many of the high-end items with less than 100% success even at GM tradeskills. Ideally, this SHOULD keep attempting to create items until resources run dry. - All Names in the KR Client doesn't show corpses, but does in the 2D Client. Is this a bug, or has All Names in KR not been fleshed out yet? - When equipping colored items, sometimes EVERY single item on your paperdoll changes a random color. Re-equipping items changes the colors on items again, or sometimes reverts them to normal. - When using KR Chat (pressing "Enter" before chatting), any letters you press SOMETIMES triggers hotkeys that use those letters. i.e = If I assign "F" to Recall, typing in KR Chat and using the "F" key sometimes triggers the Recall spell, but usually does not. When "Chat" is open, no hotkeys should trigger when typing. Rest will come as I play. |

- Smith crafting (and probably other skills) gump: If you click the "Make number" check box and then attempt to enter the number of items you want to make, you can only type one number. At that point, the gump refreshes and the cursor disappears. The easy workaround is to type the number of items you want to make first, then check the "make number" box. Annoying, though.
- Crafting gumps: Not a bug, but it would be nice if the menu included "Make 10/Make 15/Make 20" options for BOD crafters. Since you've already incorporated a "mark as quest" option, is it too difficult an engineering challenge to automatically include items into BODs? It's not conceptually different, and if you're using the gump you're probably not scripting. It would be nice to eliminate 10-20 extra clicks for every bod. Also - thanks for using UOForums, Jeremy! Probably a bug as well:
- In the 2D Client when you purchase from NPCs, you can hold the cursor down to increase the quantity you want to purchase and it'll increase at a quick rate. In the KR Client, holding the cursor does nothing, and you have to individually click (sometimes up to 200 times) just to purchase something like arrows or reagents. |

- In Twisted Weald: Taming and releasing Cu Sidhes causes them to drop unmovable blue backpacks with bandies in them. In the grassy area slightly south of the Swoop spawn point, backpacks created in this manner cannot be clicked on in the KR client. They are accessible in 2D - which makes me think it is related to the 'item dropping' and house decorating problems reported elsewhere. Sorry, but I didn't record geocoords for the untouchable pack.
Edit: forgot to mention that, when I try to click on the pack in KR, it says "leaves." Seems like the KR client thinks the pack is below the level of the ground. -M Last edited by Magister_Returns; 10th January 2008 at 02:18 PM. |

WoW, I can't think of ten... hehe...
1- Dang near imposible to drop things onto the ground, I must "hang" the item from my curser in order to drop it to the ground... 1st I drop the item onto the Black area of my flexible desk top, and this causes the item to "hang" on the end of my curser... then and only then am I able to drop the item to the ground... 2- all my desk top setting are saving but the Radar map... It will always be closed the next time I log in... I would like it to remain open like all the other things on my desk top... 3- a Spinning wheel can NOT be use as a current target in a Macro... I must use the spinning wheel 1st and then use the action "curser target last", because the action "cruser target current" will NOT work... PS: 4- sounds, while walking around, I notice skeleton sounds being player where NO skeletons were at... Oger sounds too would play, where NO Ogers were at... 5- would be nice to adjust the sound levels independantly from one another... The rest are all graphic related... 1- while riding an eythreal unicorn, I sit realy low in the saddle, looks hokei... 2- I get a wierd screen distortion that scrolls upwards, but only on the play area... not the flexible desktop area... its the width of the play area, but only 1/2 inch tall, and it scrolls from bottom to top... but only once and awhile and only while walking... no particular direction, just start walking continually and every once and awhile this band rides up the screen... doesn't do it while I just stand there, only moving.... 3- my House loads realy slowly when I step onto the property.... 4- when logging in, the roof of my house is always covering me, I must move to open the roof...
