What I would like to see is Personal Bless Deeds again and perhaps finding a way to give NEWbie accounts easier way to get skill increase etc. I hate playing on a newbie account and only having 700 skill pts

And it's just going to get worse when the Gargoyles are introduced, along with their own new skills. Rumor says that stonecrafting weapons will be one of them, and probably some sort of gargish magic.

Raising the skill cap was discussed quite a bit in chicago, and the dev team seemed VERY hesitant to do it. It's not off the table, but they seemed to be pretty firmly rooted in fixing existing balance issues with the notion that increase the skill cap would just exasperate the issues.

800 skill cap = game over

IMHO

I'd rather see a fix to some of the skills rather than a skill point increase. In my opinion... its almost TOO easy to make a dominant character... if nothing else I'd like to see our character building capabilities reduced to make the game more challenging (read fun, for me anyway).

If you ate 7 120 scrolls for all your skills, and had the right items/jewelry, you could potentially have 840 skill points.
It's bad enough people can get stats up to godly amounts.

I agree with most peeps, dont raise the skill cap.

Used to be that warrior was the starting character for you. That is how you earned the gold to make your mage or bard or tamer, which really put you in the gold making business.

Then AOS, and now a warrior template, which can be made in 4 days, Can kill faster than a tamer that takes months to make.

I know, advance char tokens, and skill items.

Skill cap increase would be pointless without fixing issues.

I think if the underlying balance issues are addressed, we won't need an increased skill cap. (not that we need one now - I think 700/720 is plenty).
