Re: I'm on a thief craze!

How about a concept like this for Insured items...

Insurance cost = base cost of insured items^number of items insured

Some concept like this where the more items you have, the increasingly more the cost would be.

So if you have a full suit, jewlery, and weapon and sheild; that is ten items.

So as it is now, it is 300 gold per item when you die to a player, 600 to a Creature.

Scale it so it is:
300 One item
600 Two items
1200 Three items
2400 Four items
4800 Five items....

This way the items insured really starts to stack up, so I dont see it being used honestly, but just a concept that does become more then one per one unit more expensive.

Also, why should it cost more for a Creature to kill you then a player?

Actually I think if you check. UO gets 300 and the person gets 300. Otherwise UO gets 600.

Re: I'm on a thief craze!

I had a somwhat developed thief while I was playing, and the amount of folks that could be stolen from was LOWWWWW. I usually hung out at the moongates, just to play around and would sometimes gank a bandage, or potion... On occasion I would get lucky and snatch a weapon, but for the most part it was the typical GM stamped playermade kind.

I did however get a couple good thefts. One memorable was a +10 tailoring scroll in Skara Brae, and a couple other times I grabbed some undecoded treasure maps.
