As far as I knew, you could only get set armor parts from ML named monsters, peerless monsters and (apparently nowadays) Doom gauntlet bosses or champ spawn bosses. At least I haven't seen any documentation stating otherwise.

Anyhoo, yesterday I got a piece of Assassin armor from doing the Ancient World quest in Heartwood.

By no means am I complaining, I'm just surprised. Has anyone else gotten set armor bits from Heartwood quests?

The only piece I ever received was Myrmidon sleeves from Miasma in the Labyrinth... I had no idea what it was at the time and sold it on a vendor which is sad because I've grown to really enjoy collecting special loot, even if it is relatively useless in combat.

I'd be very curious to hear other ways that pieces can be acquired because I haven't found any on monsters in the last month of fighting and training.

I've never heard of that before...of course, I'm not entirely sure what the Ancient World quest in heartwood is, either.

It's the quest that was supposed to get you into the Labyrinth. The one with the minotaur artifacts.

But they screwed up, and anyone could enter the Labyrinth, quest or no.

I have never, never heard of this before.

Damn.

Can the quest be done more than once? Anyone else gotten set pieces from the Strongbox quests?

ps: I've also heard scattered reports that you can get pieces from the Strangers' boxes.

Unless that was due to a recent publish... I dunno. I've done the strongbox quest probably 30-40 times since it's so easy for me to get in there with my stealther and snatch up all the minotaur artifacts and I haven't gotten any pieces.

The last time I did it though was probably a month ago because I got tired of killing gamans, haha.

I have no idea how many times I've done that quest, but probably around 100-150 by now. And this was a first for me, getting a set armor piece in the strongbox.

I usually go gather a bunch of minotaur arties with my stealther and then gradually do a quest here, another there, since the gaman and map fragment parts of the quest can be done like whenever. Didn't do anything different from the usual, so... either a recent publish changed the quest rewards, or there's always been a ridiculously low chance of getting one.

Now the question is, can you get any part or only the less rare parts that drop off ML paragons? Would be nice to have a chance at rarer parts other than doing peerless...

Do not forget to put on your luck suit on so the REWARDS are truly... rewarding.

(before getting the reward... and it works for all backpacks and strongboxes, sanctuary included...)

To my knowledge Luck doesn't enhance the possibility to recieve artifacts or set pieces, Luck only enhances the possibility of recieving better mods on regular loot.

I picked up a piece of the Assassin armor off the stranger Kysan in Hythloth last night. It was the arms,so there is a chance of getting set pieces from the strangers.

Incidentally, how did you finally kill Kysan? We were doing pretty well on Sonoma (down to 1/4 health) until he/she started one-hit killing everything...I think archers finally finished the evil spawn.

Devs: Seriously? 253 points of damage in an all 70s suit doesn't leave much room for strategy. How about giving us a shot at surviving the first blow, at least?

This was over a year ago, so this probably doesn't apply, but there was a time when I did the Sanctuary strongbox quest about 20 times a day. I never got any set pieces from them back then.
