I think I need a mentor...

Okay so I have been gone for 9 or so years and I am constantly finding new things, which is certainly exciting, however I am finding many things that I can barely get information on. It is near impossible it seems sometimes to figure out what is available now and what has changed.

I thought I was getting a grip on things when yesterday I find out about Alacrity Scrolls. Then I read that the drop rate was horrible (and there was one for sale on Napa my home server) so I thought...that isn't an option for me at this point although it would be nice. Then because I felt so lost I started reading the patch notes from 99...and they said they upped the drop rate on alacrity scrolls a day or so after the posts about how rare they were...

I am still going to read the patch notes, I read the boards constantly, but sometimes I don't even know to look for something because I don't know it even exists yet.

Anyone on Napa that is really up to date on everything willing to mentor me? I just need information really, not money or gear...I can do that all on my own and and doing quite well right now. If not on Napa...on ICQ?

I have a friend on Napa who knows more than I do about much of the new stuff, but he is rarely available to answer questions, he is either not on, or busy every second he is logged in. I don't begrudge him that, but I can't often figure out anything without him as it seems the majority of players that stop by Luna bank won't even respond to requests for information.

Anyone willing to help?

How long have you not played for?

You may be confusing Scrolls of Alacrity, and Scrolls of Power.

Scrolls of Power drop only in Felucca, and allow you to increase your skills past GM level.

Power Scrolls - UOGuide

Scrolls of Alacrity dropped first as part of an event where the minions of the Shadowlord of Hate were attacking certain Shrines. You got those Scrolls from fighting the spawn at those Shrines.

You can also get them now as part of the Spring Cleaning 2008 Turn-in.

Re: I think I need a mentor...

I haven't played in almost nine years.

I know what Power Scrolls are, and I know what alacrity scrolls are now (I spend a lot of time researching things when I can find something on them)

Are alacrity scrolls only available from spring cleaning now? Or can you still kill shrine mobs?

Only in-game from spring cleaning, or on some vendors in Luna.

That makes me a very sad panda indeed!

What about golems? I see them often, I have read posts on what items you need to make them, but I didn't find anything about what skill you need to be to make them, whether they require a special recipe, or what they are capable of doing damage wise. I have my trader and a golem might be nice to have around when mining and such.

Golems are created with the tinkering skill. Consult a guide for the minimum (75 from memory).

Requires the items (from memory here so consult a guide for the full list)
50 bronze ingots
50 iron ingots
5 gears (crafted with tinkering)
2 Power crystals (obtained from killing a golem)
1 clockwork assembly (obtained from killing golem)

To create the golem double click the clockwork assembly.

I thank you all for your assistance, no one want to make themselves available outside the boards though? =-)

You can also get the power crystals and clockwork assembly from killing exodus overseers in Ilshnar.
