I have a question about the fourteen day trial.

I downloaded Ultima Online: Gold and recieved my fourteen day trial verification code. When I registered for my EA/UO account using my AIM name, I accepted the License Agreements and it brought me to a page where I have to select a payment method.

My question is, do I have to pay first to get my fourteen day trial? Then I get the fourteen free days and I choose if I keep paying or not? Because I was kind of hoping to get a feel for the game and see if I liked it or not before I started paying for it, especially since I've never played an MMORPG in my life (A friend reccomended this to me.)

I'd appreciate any help. Thanks in advance!

Hi Avalyn, welcome to UOForums!

They ask for a payment method as safeguard to stop people from signing up with multiple freebie accounts to scam with etc.
So they won't bill you unless you decide to carry on playing after the 14 days are up.

Will it automatically bill me after the fourteen days or will I get a prompt?

It is possible to activate a trial account without providing any billing information. I've done this a few times, as I use game time codes rather than a credit card.

Basically you just send EA your account name and ask for them to activate it, explaining you don't have a credit card or plan to use codes. It's been a while, but I think I contacted them through the Ask a question -thingie over on www.uo.com.

My last question... do any of you know someone nice enough to help me out? I made a character, and got lost almost immediately. Heh. I'm such a newbie. D:
