![]() | I dismounted the Vanguards I dismounted three today, and each time the dread horse remained in game. Tamers were able to tame two of the horses, the 3rd however vanished after a long running battle to get it tamed. The spawn just vanished taking the dread horse with it. ![]() |

![]() | Re: I dismounted the Vanguards Myself and a friend dismounted one of the 4 that has spawned, dragged it down out of the fray and then had the "vulture" tamers come out of hiding and try to tame it. That is the reason why tamers are not respected in this game. Good thing was, one went grey in Fel and was noto'd by a few people. ![]() |

![]() | Re: I dismounted the Vanguards What are the skill requirements for taming one? *wonders if she could jewel-up her Taming* Anyone can use a bola, right? I'd just be thrilled to have a chance to get one of these horses...even if I don't hunt with him until I've increased in real skill. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: I dismounted the Vanguards We had a bunch of people who admittedly wanted one, I don't care if multiple people try to tame them, I just think its crappy when you break someone else's tame to try to further yourself. We had that happen today on LS, and one of the tamers kept fireballing the DH whenever one of the other tamers got ahold of it. A tamer with a dragon came along and killed it with the basic moral "If you're going to fight about it, nobody gets it." We were upset it was gone, especially since they're such a rare spawn, but I'd rather not the tame go to someone who's going to be disrespectful about it. |

![]() | Re: I dismounted the Vanguards My friend is Legendary and didn't have issues. I am 106 and got the msg a few times that I had no chance of taming this creature. ![]() |

![]() | Re: I dismounted the Vanguards Elbryan, where you able to get a taming chance eventually, even though you got the "no chance" message? I've jeweled up to 103 Taming and 116-something Animal Lore (real skill). I tried a few times, but just got the "anger the beast" message. I'm bet my Taming is still too low to have a decent shot at it. It was fun to try though! Definately alot of mad action when the wave of monsters finally shows up. My favorite part was a Daemon named "GrimmOmen", hehe. I think I'll have to leave the warhorses to the pros, though. Doesn't seem like I have much of a chance with all that's going on. Lots of higher-skilled and scrolled Tamers are after them. ![]() |

![]() | Re: I dismounted the Vanguards Quote:
As for the tamers, well... everyone is going to "hop" on them. If they aren't helping to kill, they need to be helping to heal or something. That's not right to just hide and then tame when everyone else does all the work. I did tame 1 today and that is it for me... unless someone else needs one while I am at the spawn. The timer on the spawn blows though so I doubt I make it over too much. ![]() | |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: I dismounted the Vanguards A small group of guildies and friends tonight grabbed three (out of three) in Cove Fel. I got one of the three. What we did was dismount and drag the horse down. Then we healed the tamer while they tamed. I didn't have to do that as I (thank the tedious game time) had honor at knight level. I honored and went to work. I'm natural 120 Lore and 119 Tame, and still took probably 10 attempts to tame but it worked. I've got a dread warhorse in the stable. We were mostly impressed that we got all three without interference. We have about a half dozen friends that still need one, so we'll be doing that tomorrow...hopefully we'll get them all hooked up. After that, they're all for sale hehe. Overall, the spawn is a pain, but if you can work around that, and have very high taming and lore, they aren't unreasonable to deal with. I highly suggest Fel, as the Trammelites will be all over anything spawning there, so you may as well come to Fel and get one. Everyone has been pretty respectable so far...might have to do with being in town hehe. |
