I'll give it a look but where is that? I'm not familiar with the new areas, I left before AoS released.

Last night I was killing demons and acid elementals in Wind which didn't seem too bad, especially the demons. I've also found that since I still fizz on EV quite a bit Force of nature works well on them too.

I'd wait a little longer with your Magery before going after Miasma.

An ill-timed *fizzle* would mean death (or a lot of running) and multiple *fizzles* would make you a sitting duck.

FC/FCR are also suggested there too so you can invis quickly if you do *fizzle* and get aggrod.

To get to Miasma, you can start at the Umbra Moongate, exit going W stay NW and follow the border/stars. You'll see a pillar with something on top of it in a "corner" (can no longer travel NW) and double click the item on the pillar. You'll get transported to the entrance to the Labyrinth, double click the doors and follow the path, Miasma is located after you travel E, make a turn and head NW (you should see the tag for Miasma as you near).

Watch out for reptalons if they roam nearby. Nasty fire breath will do about 100 damage to a 65+ suit (fire resist) and if you have to take one down you can sick some Nature's Fury's on it and use Mind Blast as your main attack against it. (will take several Nature's Fury's or EV's if you use those)

Thanks Dip, once I log on after work I want to hit 95 magery then I might go have a try at them. All else fails I have my Wind demons, might even try a dragon tonight.

Need to find more and interesting ways to get myself killed.

Just a heads up, if you do try Miasma, it hits 2-3x as hard as a Demon, has 4-5x more hitpoints, and can mortal attack and deadly poison.

You want to be around 110 magery, with GOOD MR from items on top of med, start working some LMC into the suit, and MOST DEFINITELY have FC2/FC4 minimum before going to miasma.

Practice first at swoops. Miasma takes some effort and tactics.

Guess I'll stick with my demons liches and elementals for now then until I can get my magery up there. I took out a couple swoops last night but was fizzling too much to make it really worthwhile.

I'm at work now but if I recall correctly I have FC1 and FCR2 right now, looking at picking up a spellbook with another 1FC and hopefully 2FCR hopefully tonight. From there it's just a matter of adding to my LMC and resists. I've got a bit of LMC now but only about 10%. Once I'm happy with resists I'll be working on adding SDI into my suit.

Are there any quests that you can recommend that award items good for a mage? I was looking at the Britain library quests and want some glasses (which ones though I'm not sure) but other than those I'm clueless on quests.

And as for farming as a spellweaving mage, Miasmas are still the way to go. With spellweaving you can have a dryad allured Arctic Ogre Lord. Train chivalry to like 50 and you can have a field day at miasmas even solo. The arctic ogre lord is totally amune to poisons Unless you have it discorded. The arctic ogre lord is amune to poison damage as well! 100% resistant to it. So as a mage, just cast greater heal on it and remove curse to remove the mortal wounds when that happens. Sence you are a mage, also cast an EV to back up the AOL or to give it a break from having to target the Miasma when it first spawns. You will probubly cast more mana using greater heal then you will EVs.

If you wanted to slightly change a template around just for miasma, you could just get anatomy, healing, chivalry, spellweaving, magery(for getting Arctic ogre lord there) [Dryad allures can be healed using the healing skill, mage summons healed by Vet skill]

In addition to the Clainin's spellbook, don't forget a Scrapper's Compendium....25% SDI, 10%LMC, 1FC/1FCR, and you can even get them with mods such as Intell increase, MR, LRC or Skill increases. For me, the Scrapper's is absolutely the best bang for the buck among spellbooks, and all my mages/tamers/bards carry it.

On the other hand, the Vesper replica Chaos shield is probably the worst shield in the game. Other than the 1FC/2FCR, it basically sucks. Better off getting jewels and a Scrapper's to reach your 2-3/6 FC/FCR, then find a GOOD spell channeling shield that you can enhance with Verite or Valorite depending on your suit needs for resists. JMO.

You could also add in the Armor of Fortune for the 40 LRC, but the resists blow so I guess it's a wash. My mule wears mine lol.
