Re: Hunting Areas

I am a little confused
Is that fencing you are working? Or a parry archer?

Re: Hunting Areas

Do you mean "Repond?" Those only work on the non-undead humanoids. i.e. ratmen, orcs, ogres, etc.

Mummys should work pretty good to get fencing up till around 85ish, then Id probably go with Ogres and then Ogre Lords after 95ish. Been a while though, could be wrong...

Re: Hunting Areas

as far as what to hunt , as above im not sure what u are goin for here , dual weapon skills and all . but here is how i did my fencer
30-50 deathwatch hatchlings
50.1 -70 deathwatch beetles
70.1- 85ish depise lizardmen
85ish-gm shame earth ellies
100.1-120 sollens at wind
now through all this i used a cheap NPC purchased dagger and shield nothin fancy . training is to train if u pause the need for gold and train gold will come.
it took about 5 days aprox 2 hours a day to get to gm and about another week or so to get to 120 .this should raise all skill at same time weapon tact antomy and perry . aIf you are workin healing that as well will go up but after 80ish i find i get more gains heiling others .

u could just get a 100%poison weapon and beat on a golem

Re: Hunting Areas

golem trick works on pre-patched golems.

First thing you should do, if you have a soulstone or fragment, is get rid of either the archery, or the fence/parry. Remember you only have 700 skill points, and theres no room for all of those.

Anything in the despise cave will help you build skill up to any cap you want.

Re: Hunting Areas

I forgot about Shame. Great from gains past 90 and can make some good money if you run the place solo and grab all the gold and jewels...

Re: Hunting Areas

I am gonna use my soulstone for the parry, i just use parry now to help me fight mobs while i work up fencing. Thanks for the input though.
anyways, my goal is
archery
fencing
chivalry
healing
anat
tactics
resist
Would like the ability to heal with bandies & chivalry, and want some range fighting abilities.
Am open to suggestions though, its been 5 years since i played UO So understand my newbness

Re: Hunting Areas

as that is not a bad template... the double wep skills is in many ways a waste. are u planning on PvP or just PvM?.. i have heard a lot of people say that resist isn't needed for just PvM... although it is very important in PvP.

because you have 7 skills here it will be hard to max out any of them with scrolls. is this a new account or are you playing on a 5 year old account? I only ask because of the bonus skill points you get with age..

another thing you are missing on the template is focus... unless you are planning on using chiv sparingly.. i would highly suggest having some way to regenerate mana.. of course there are always Mana Regen items to offset the lack of focus.. and because 20 focus = 1 MR.. you would only really need 6 MR to make up for not having 120 focus.. but.. I still wouldn't go with 0 focus...

My pally template is shaping up like this..

120 archery
120 focus
120 healing
120 tactics
120 ana
120 chiv

I know there are a million other possibilities.. and this is not the best one out there.. but it works well for PvM.. and thats all id ever use an archer for :-p

anyway.. just my thoughts.. in the end, its your game and you have to be comfortable with what you play .. good luck

I've never figured out how to be gracefully humble without appearing weak.

Nor have I figured out how to be gracefully passionate without appearing arrogant.

In the end, I always seem to be arrogant and weak instead of humbly passionate.
