I am new to the game.
I love role-playing games so much but I've never played UO.

And I cant understand on www.uo.com, what to download first to start to play.
It seems there are two options :

_ 14 days of trial of UOGOLD
_ 30 days of trial of UO mondain's legacy

I dont understand well, why there are those two possibilities.
Sometimes people talk about expansion packs too. How many are there? What is UOGOLD? is Mondain's legacy an expansion pack? who killed kennedy?

Could someone clearly explain to me what are the expansion packs for UO, and how to play the FULL version of the game?

If you download the UO Gold 14 day trial, you'll have access to everything in-game but the content they added with the last expansion: Mondain's Legacy. Basically, there are a few places you won't be able to go, and some items you won't be able to use.

I can't seem to find the 30 day trial of Mondain's Legacy you mention. I wasn't aware they were offering a full content trial like that but I could be wrong.

There have been many expansions for UO, but all the ones prior to Mondain's Legacy are now included in the basic download & install (someone correct me if I'm wrong here?), so it's not really much to worry about.

Terrance is right as far as I'm aware. I suggest buying Ultima Online 9th anniversary before the month is out. Its $19.99. You'll get good value for money. I say before the end of the month as the offer is still available for the special reward tokens. You get 8 of them, but only if you use the upgrade code before the end of this month. I suggest getting:

Royal Leggings of Embers
Fountain of Life
Ancient Sameria Helm
Ossians Grimoire
The Haunted Mirror, has no real purpose, except looks good in your house.

I know thats only 4 items, but personally i thought the rest were pointless. But perhaps get A Holy Sword. I'd use the others to buy wotever you please, double up on the 1st 3 items I listed really. They are usefull and in 6 months will be worth alot, AGAIN!!! LOL.

One more thing, you still get 30 days free with the 9th Anniversary. And all the expansions. Basically if you want to be successful in the game you have to have Moundain's Legacy. It's the only way to make gold, and a lot of the better items require the expansion.

So ill buy a mondain legacy code and download the uoml_setup.exe client.

ok I've just purchased a UO Mondain legacy new account code (29€), then downloaded the client uoml_setup.exe (750Mb), then created an EA account, registered the game with my game code, and finally registered for a monthly subscription (13€/month)

But it seems to be a problem, im not sure.
My account management screen shows this :

It means I can only play Mondains Legacy? The other expansion packs are not registered!!
Do I have to pay for each expansion?
It said I could play all the 7 expansion packs. Or is it just a display bug?

I wouldn't worry about it. ML or moundains legacy should allow you to play all the games. So just log on and see if you can get to a moongate - a blue one!!!! maddux will tell you to go through red ones. LOL. Go to tokono Islands. If you can then you have all the expansions.
