![]() | How to Record a Journal for Later Use? Has anyone had any luck getting UO Journal Converter configured and running? If so please provide instructions, esp on lines used in uo.cfg configuration. Have you found a way to save journal script directly to the hard drive using uocfg configurations. Please share your script! I'm in the process of trying out the second method after having no luck with UOJC. I'll share my results if they are any good. I'd really like to capture UO events in "real" time. Thanks Branwilde |

![]() | Re: How to Record a Journal for Later Use? I got this working along time ago. Not sure if this still works, but give it a try. Add or mod your uo.cfg file. Add the following line(s). SaveJournal=on JournalSaveUnicode=on JournalSaveFile=F:\UO2D\Journal.txt For the above line, change it to where you want the TXT file to be saved. |

![]() | Re: How to Record a Journal for Later Use? The information given by Kurgan is accurate, but if you don't know where to find the files, you can't use it. I will give it my best but expect you to ICQ me if you run into a road block. If you have UOJournal Converter on your hard drive delete it. After deleting through your Control Panel go to Program files and be sure UOJournal Converter is no longer there. Delete anything you find. Now you want to find your uo.cgf file. Go to Program Files under My Computer and find your UO2D file (or uo3d if that is what you play). Open the file and move down to the bottom of the file. You will see "uo" with the UO symbol. Near to it you will see another uo file with a different symbol. Right click on this and it should say uo.cfg. Double Click to open the file. Use Notepad program to open the file. The file lists all the characteristics of your account and character. Look down the list of attributes until you come to: SaveJournal=off JournalSaveUnicode=off CHANGE BOTH OF THESE TO on and press enter On the next line you will enter the location where you want your journal text file to be saved. Go to the location where you want the file to be saved and create a folder that does NOT include the word "journal". After making the file go up to the address or navigation bar at the top of the page and copy the location. Go back to the uo.cfg file and type: JournalSaveFile= then paste the address you copied immediately after the = sign. After your file name type in \journal.txt The entire string should look something like this: JournalSaveFile=c:\Documents and Settings\heha\Desktop\UO\journal.txt Save the uo.cgf file to replace the existing file. Open your UO account to the same character you have used most recently (this is the character you have made the changes on. To make changes for other characters log in with them and then change their uo.cgf file.) Open the Paperdoll and click on Options. On the right hand side of the Paperdoll click on the UO symbol. Be sure the "save text file" option is checked off. Log out and into your character. Your journal text should start showing up after a delay. The text writing seems to be slightly delayed from real time action. If it doesn't work ICQ me at 333-483-483. Many thanks to Kurgan for FINALLY helping me to get this figured out!!! Best of luck, be patient, this takes awhile to work out. |
