How to flesh out tamer/bard?

Okay, so I'm an old veteran who has basically played the same old characters forever and decided it was time to do something different. So I got myself a 6th character slot a while back and just got a 7th.

What I'd like is different opinions on what would be fun to do with them (I'm asking about the 7th in my next thread). I've made the 6th character into a tamer/bard already though she has only:

Animal Lore: 63
Taming: 54
Discordance: 33
Musicianship: 78
Peacemaking: 33
Provocation: 30
Veterinary: 39

I have not decided how to narrow her down yet. Any suggestions as to which way to go with her that would be most fun? So far developing her is WAY boring...

I'd drop disco or peace (depending on how exciting you want your fights) and put in magery for traveling and self defense. just my 2 cents.

Okay. Thanks. I actually do have some magery, just have not done much with it.

Re: How to flesh out tamer/bard?

I keep disco soulstoned on my tamer bard and switch between peace and disco. I use disco when I go out group fighting or need to train my pet, but most of the time I keep peace on for when I'm out solo'ing with my pet.

my two cents: dont you get a bonus to your music skills when you train all 4?
ive been a firm believer of magery but think about this.... with recall scrolls you can go anywhere, and being a bard, all you have to do is spam area peace to keep yourself from too much danger... i personally would just keep Gheal scrolls and recall scrolls on me and stick with say 30 magery.... work those music skills up to 120 and i think youll have a blast

The squeaky wheel gets the grease... but if it still squeaks after greasing it then replace it.

IMHO you need magery for more than just recall and heal, like invis and summon ev's or eles for a little extra firepower. I've not seen too many tamers who didn't invis themselves to get aggro to stop hitting them. Also, one caveat about area peace is that will also peace your pet so if you want your pet to keep fighting you can't spam area peace unless you're just trying to run away. Just my 2 bits.

Re: How to flesh out tamer/bard?

Drop/stone provoke. Keep discord and peace. No non-champ, non-peerless monster can stand up to Cu or Superdragon when it's tamer can discord and calm it.

Best solo money maker template in the game. Well, unless you're a dedicated Trog Fencer.
