How does one copy an entire book?

And then set it permanent? I presume one uses red leaves to set them, but I don't know how to copy.

If you're talking about copying regular books, you need the inscription skill.

It has been awhile, but I think it goes something like this:

Click the blue dot next to Inscription on your skills menu. On screen, it will say something like, "Target the book you wish to copy." Target the book, and a blank book in your pack will be a copy of the book you targeted.

You can still do the copying with zero skill, but will get many "You fail to copy the book" messages.

you have to target the blank book too...and make sure the "By" field is how you want it before you leaf it

Took me a while to figure out what "joat" meant.
They should have called it "George of all trades" though, makes for a much better abbreviation!

As for copying books, I believe you need 45 skill for a guaranteed success, could be wrong there though.
Also, every so often when copying books you only copy the first page of the book.
Always check books to see if they copying went right before you seal them!

among other attributes like the ability to find more gems when mining and such!

Humans on the other hand have a better smelt percentage so theoretically if you can mine with elf and smelt with human
