House decay question

Im running into financial issues and wanted to know how long does it take a house to fall after your account lapses?
Is it 3 months?

I have 3 huge houses I dont want to loose.

Re: House decay question

It is supposed to be 90 days but never wait that long.

I helped save an historic home on Siege, when it was greatly worn and even then when the acct. was reactivated with all our calls to the real owner of acct. the paging of a gm will not work till *server up* has come and gone. We were lucky it was day one..of greatly worn not day two. It updated with server up that next morning but that was pushing it !! And had that home not updated with server up AFTER he reactivated then...only then would a gm check the acct. to possibly hit *refresh* on it had it not updated with server up that next morning.

Max I would risk waiting be 60 days..but they seem to be changing things sooo ya may be best to try while the accts are still active, to put whatever you value if it fits into one house to keep that going longer and then *risk* the lesser things in the other houses on the other accts.

With these new turnins...ya may want to keep them active all of them to TURN IN items that bog your acct. down like valentine cards and slap all those turnins on the acct you hope to keep going longer.

Good luck in your decision making I know it is difficult to do and also to *risk* downtime unpaid accts. homes not supposed to decay too fast 90 days I think but figure 60 days max, and shuffle what ya wish to preserve into ONE house best as ya can, cuz ya never know !!

Re: House decay question

They have changed the decay system it is MUCH shorter. There is a 10 day grace period before house starts to decay. Once it has started it decays in 5 more days. Here is the link to stratics with decay times (ORIGIN - Ultima Online - Main). I placed a new plot with one account and didn't even sell old plot before it fell. I went to show someone to sell and when we got there it was gone, lol. Said,"guess there's a spot for you to place, lol".

Re: House decay question

It is still though 90 days and then the 5 day decay cycle.

Re: House decay question

I knew a friend who always thought she had 90 days to renew but her house went into decay after only 30 days.... it's a great risk.

Re: House decay question

Never heard of that one and if the decay really was 30 days, I am sure lots of people would complain.

My account is now closed for over 60 days and the house is still standing.
I expect it to fall after the 90th day.

So - does this mean they have fixed the "houses not decaying" issue?

Isn't that a seperate issue dealing with "Owned by OSI" properties?

Depends which ones you mean.
The ones placed during return Britannia program are rumored to be lost and still do not decay.

Re: House decay question

I know I read they were reducing the time to prevent people from maintaining houses for the full year without paying for the full year (or something to that effect). The end of the update article (ORIGIN - Ultima Online - Main) says last phase (which I think has been implemented - I could be wrong) will be a 10-day grace period when an account goes inactive then the 5 day decay period starts. I do not know if this has started yet (I think but am not sure) but I would be careful. It could be the longer time, if so may not always be so.
