hi im new

in a few weeks ill be playing uo. im pacific time usa. i play games between the hours of 3pm-6am pacific time. i do not want to pvp. my question is what is the best server for me?

Best 2 things to remeber is ping time to the server and what time you play compared to the activity on that shard. I'd have to vote Pacific or Baja.

I'm sure you'll see folks speak up that play those shards

Will I would pick one from the following list :

Eastern USA Shards 5am EST/EDT
Atlantic
Catskills
Chesapeake
Great Lakes
Lake Superior
Legends
Siege Perilous

Western USA Shards 5am PST/PDT
Baja
Lake Austin
Napa Valley
Pacific
Sonoma
Origin

The time listed is the time that those shards go down for daily maintence. Usually I can find people on just about any of those shards at anytime (I am on Central).

So I guess your real question is which has the most people on it?

Atlantic has traditional been credited with having the highest population.

On my home shard of Lake Superior there is still many people.

Other shards in your time frame, from my list I have no idea.

You will also want to play the shard where you are getting the best ping to. Because if you try to play on a shard where you have some lag, its gonna get you dead many times.

I would also suggest making a character on one of the test shards, you will see a complete list of all shards once you log in. By playing on a test shard, you can try different skills out, very easily. So you can kind of get an idea of what you want some of your characters to be. On the shard you decide to play on. Although you can play on any or every shard. I find it easier to focus on one main shard and maybe a second shard on a different maintainence schedule, so in case there is a problem on your main shard and it has to stay down for sometime, you can play on your secondary shard just for kicks. But the choice is up to you.

thank you very much for the responses. i will probrably try atlantic or pacific. i enjoy melee class and also the ranger type class. i have a ton to learn about the game and i cant wait. i dont enjoy pvp so hopefully i wont get attacked lol.

Unless you pick Siege, just stay out of Felucca (also don't join a guild until you know what the people are like) and you can't be attacked.

Population has pro's and con's. pro, easier to meet people. Con, Harder to get a home and good items due to the economy.

For shards, pacific is crowded
Baja is good sized
Lake Austin ( NAMED for texas, server in california) is low population.
