Just curious on some advice for what i could consider playing ( i last played around 1999-2000). I had a mace fighter with parry/anatomy/tactics/ healing (yay bandaids) And 2 more i cant remember.

Just curious on the state of the game (if this arrangement is still competative, and what people would reccomend i start with when i mainly would like to do PvM.

I know this class couldnt do the MAJOR stuff flike balrogs and such at the time, so i had the basic tank mage also. I have no clue on the new classes that are preferable, so would just like some input if it could be spared.

If you can revive your old account, then you can PVM with that. Might want to relook it all, and maybe add some Paladin skills, or Samurie or Ninja; depending on the rest of the skills.

Game has changed a LOT since then. A LOT!

Armor is not what it once was.
Weapons aren't what they used to be.
GM Smiths can make equivalant of Vanq weapons and better.

Without the expansions your limited in game play to a degree.

Overall, you should find the game refreshing and challenging, and probably sometimes frustrating as you try to play catch up.

Don't come back in, expecting what you remember, cause its not the same game it was back then.

I have tried the account thingy, doesn't remember mine. I can't even remember what email i probably had back then either.

I don't expect a lot, but i played EQ for a long time, i would just like something a little less time intensive (bye 5 hour raids). Something i can solo on my own and enjoy some online content. I remember being able to play for 1-2 hours and be able to log off when i need/wanted to. I assume and hope at least that is still mostly true.

Please more info on combat/player class suggestions for PvM if possible.

Find a 8th Age box in the store. Should be about 20 bucks. It has an Advanced Character token, Soul Stone, gifts and all. That will kick start you back to playing along with about 45 days of free play time.

After you've 'warmed' up, then you might be interested to upgrade to Mondain's Legacy, which is 29.99 via web only. Its not so much a download or upgrade, but just "access" to that content.

Buying (8th Age) and installing, then patching, will provide all you need from the 8th Age. I recommend the 8th Age, cause it will save a hella lot of patching from an older version.

Creating a new account with that install, and then using the Advanced Character token will jump start your playing.
