Trying to raise my skill in archery by training on a golem that my gm tinker made.. but i am not getting any gains.

I am training in malas and my archery skill is at 70.5 any ideals?

Well, seeing that your golem isn't working, I'd suggest getting the ML Minor Arty WildFire Bow for the +10 Archery (or use jewelry to get above 80) and kill centaurs. Decent gains, and you'll never run out of arrows.

You gotta be atleast 80 skill to get gains off a gm golem, but once you do, it'll take you to 120.

My first question would be "are you using a guilded charactor?" If you are, then here are some sujestions...

Your skill needs to be within like 20 points of the creature you are beating on to get gains. If you have an elder in animal lore, Lore the golem you are using and its 'Wrestling' is about 20 points off of your Archery, then you should gain. If you are a bit under that, then I sujest just getting a ring or bracelet to get a bit of a boost. My fav way to train is with an Arctic Ogre Lord myself, obtainable with the Dryad Allure Spellweaving spell. The AOL has 100 poison resist unlike the now created Golems that have only 99% so your full poison/no hit spell weapons and bows will not loose durability nor will you eventually kill your target.

If you are looking for a few natrual gains, how about try going to Yew Graveyard now that the Grim Reaper spawn should be over soon, and pick on a few skeletons. Even just find a buddy to hunt with and target things after your buddy is targeted. IMO, Archery is easy to gain natrually to past 80 without having to powergame with a golem or other static target.
