Re: Gametime for gp

*sigh*

Well, Cybernickel doesn't do Europa.
Markee Dragon doesn't quote a price
None of his other brokers have shown as being 'online' since I started this thread. I'd prefer to deal with Thor, since he's on Europa himself, if I can catch him!
Other wise I guess it will have to be UO Radio, but we'll need to save a bit more first, his price is the highest I've seen anywhere.

I don't understand how someone could pay 5.7 million gold for a 30 day game time code. That is 190,000 gold a day. You practically have to play the game all day long to make that sort of loot. There is no way an average player would be able to do that.

I like Thor, he's a great guy
Him and Cybernickel are the ones I tend to recommend

Most of the people I know that pay for their game time exclusively with gold are members of guilds who do spawns and such daily. They sell powerscrolls and arties constantly. Their collective efforts make it very easy to come up with 5 mill (2.5 mill on Siege) per player on a monthly basis.

Re: Gametime for gp

well, my husband and I work together, using all our characters. We craft, we hunt, and together we managed to pay for our accounts. We do it that way because we are both over 50, he is in poor health, I stayed home while our children grew up, and now we find it's next to impossible to find work.
So we fill our days with fruitless job applications and uo.

I'll just stick with paying the monthly subscription fee.

Re: Gametime for gp

hm thanks for the info, we hadnt seen past posts about EA not giving discounts. We had been led to believe, if bought in bulk amounts, you got discounted rates per code.. hmm Looks like we're shopping for a new broker again lol Prolly back to Markee Dragon, Thor has always been great with us.

As for how players make enough to use ingame gold. Tov and I do alot of peerless, other hunts, occasional Champ Spawns for power scrolls, etc. As for arties, we've only gotten one from Doom, but we do craft the craftable arties and sell them, sold a crimmy from a peerless hunt, plus we run across good deals here and there, do alot of buy/sell/trading. Its fun for us

Re: Gametime for gp

Well the only possible way I can see people selling game codes for cheaper than they buy them is to gain business and a reputation. Kind of like how when big console companies sell thier new XBox360 for $200 less than what it takes to make it. They will make back that money with the games they release.
So selling a 90 day game time for 5-7 less than normal and make up for it in other ways like selling a ML upgrade code for 39.99.

But anymore than a few bucks I wouldn't trust.

Re: Gametime for gp

There's some fairly conclusive evidence in a thread on uo hall today that suggests that Staypuff = Golrath.

I am very, very glad I decided against using that site for gametime.
