i went through this almost a year ago. one of my accounts got hacked by this and EA did nothing but tell me to file a police report. so what i did was close all of my accounts but 2. on those 2 i changed my e-mail to "uosux@uosux.com". now, it doesn't have anywhere to send my info. no problems since. anyway, i live in a small town, kinda like mayberry. i would get laughed out of town if i filed a police report over that. let me tell you, losing a castle and having characters deleted that you put all that time into (almost 9 years at that time) is a hard thing to deal with.

Buddy it is tough. But I would hope even in your small town that they would realize internet crime is just as bad as any other crime. They may not of had the man power to investigate it but they might of sent it to the state police

I am sorry to hear about your loss. I'm in the same boat as you are, this account it is happening too is 9 yrs old 109 months. I'd be sick if that happened to me too. Wish we could change our user id along with our password.

That sucks, Buddy - reason why we should all be very careful about our passwords and the security of our accounts.

The email account I use is different from the account I use for forum accounts, but... I just received one of these unrequested password messages today, and it worries me. I'll probably change all of my passwords again tonight...

I'd rather use a legitimate email address, in case some day I really do need to use a legitimate service (like, if I forget my password, since I keep having to change it...)

they will give you the password over the phone after you give them you credit card info. i got a kick out of this. my new password was k33pout. get it? "keep out" awesome...
