For the last months I have been testing luck and crafting.
This was tested on the fletching quest, doing bows.

Luck 0, 20k wood... 81% of backpacks had 1 item.
Luck 1600, 20k wood... 17% of backpacks had 1 item.
Luck 2030, 20k wood... 04% of backpacks had 1 item.

Maybe Luck changes it... ?
Anyone has any information on this one?

So what you are saying is the more luck you had, the more items per a bag you got. But do you need to get 2 items per a bag for chance of recipe, or can you get a recipe in a bag, and nothing else (for a 1 item bag)? I do the quests on and off, but haven't thought to see those sorts of trends, hehe. And if you get a kit, does it have to be 2 items, or can it be 1? Hm. But I guess more items means more chance for kits.

I have got solo talismans, recipes, random rewards and fletching kits...

If it is a chance per item... luck has a huge weight on this one.

So why wasnt the question never asked?

Did you get any kits during that time? If so the results on that would be nice as well.

Still learning if making harder items changes the drop rate.

it doesn't...I've gotten 2 kits, one an ash shortly after I started fletch-questing, and just before I gm'd got a heartwood.

sorry, realized this wasn't clear...it was in response to Pitr pondering if harder items gave better rewards...and no, it's been shown in the past it's completely random...with tailoring and smithing, the drops are irregardless of what you're crafting, hence people do flower garland quest over and over since it uses less cloth...etc.

several kits?.. do you think luck played a part in that or did you not track that while tracking the number of items?

The first kit I ever got was the only thing in the bag but it was shortly after Heartwood was opened to the public. Tweaks could have taken place since then.. good question.

Haha I just got done watching Get Smart (pretty good), and so my answer to this question would have to be...yes, haha, a good question to not never ask ;P.

Wish I had more to offer in terms of numbers, but, I've been doing smith quests lately, and just got a Warrior Statue deed...I assume that is semi-rare?...hm I probably burned about 4,500 ingots and I have 0 luck...I don't know how many quests I did, but I will assume 100 ingots per a "Cut Both Ways," or, 45 quests.

I burned about 30k in ingots for broadsword all I got was this crappy t-shirt ... no, wait, not even that!
I've been there crafting to get a recipe for the overseer sundered blade - didn't get it. But I had like 0 Luck. Seems like I should equip some luck items and try again.

Haha, it was asked a LOOOOOOOONG time ago. No official answer given, but from player tests (as seen here, and I've always had my crafter carry a luck suit for it) it shows it helps.
