First skill you ever GMd...

With the whole Motherlode event going on, it got me a bit nostalgic about hitting GM for the first time.

For me, it was Mining. I had been working my smith for a bit and strip mining the entire mountainside next to my house selling off iron ingots at 6gp per to fund my budding t-hunter (who never got past 75 picking/carto

) and finally I was mining and smelting (one at a time) Valorite without my +5 gloves on for gains.

I remember the feeling of OMG when I saw the message and my heart pounding thinking that it was some big mistake...lol

I stil have that char and as soon as the GM LJ, they will finally be complete. Several years in the making...

I GM'd Swords & Tatics with in days of each other in the Bone Knight Room way back when. Mining was a big deal, along with smithing & Fishing because it was such a long process for me and they're still my favorite things to do in UO

Mining was my first, then swords. I still use both characters to this day. The one who GMed swords later 120ed swords and is my main pvp character.....

My first GM was swords. I almost GM'ed it with friends, and then LS time warped bad and put me back a bunch of hours.

But then a couple of days later the PK guild house next to my guild house invited me inside to spar with one of them (who happened to be Exactly! my skill).

So for hours we sparred each other while we all chatted together, and we gained almost neck and neck and GM'ed at almost the same time.

It's the best GM I've ever, ever gotten, and I still regret to this day how stupid the dev team was to remove that kind of skill gains from the game

I can't remember if it was med or magery. I've been a mage since day one.

Mining I believe... WAY back in the day.. like 98 or 99.. it was a good way to get strength up hehe.
