Finally!!! You darn Black Rock!

Congrats!

I loooooooooooove blackrock training - so far, I've taken Musicianship, Alchemy, and Tinkering to 100, and Tailoring to 120 while I've been there. I've also worked on Bowcraft/Fletching (up to the 70's now) and Inscription (around the mid 90's now - and even with blackrock, the gains are soooooo slow).

My spellweaving skill is SOO thankful to the blackrock gaining area. I missed out on 8*8 to train on my last charactor for it, so I am glad there was some helpful way to gain after it.

Good point. While training there was only myself and maybe 2 others at most and never saw any BR ele's or Toxic oozes etc.

Gonna try the golem thing with my archer to try to get it to gm before the doom run

Try using the BR in fel. Its deserted, miles easier. If a PK comes, run up into the spawn area and invis. They won't follow you for fear of getting spawn whacked

Unfortunately you have to run to the area, from Papua. I did my magic resist to 120 there, as did a few other guildies. It takes an hour or so to get from 115. I only needed 2 gains tho, lol. I need to work music there, and fishing and get GGS lumber jacking and tailoring. I think I'm at 116 tailoring atm. Could GM in a month or so of GGS. LOL. Not worked it for a while though.

How high does archery need to be to use a golem? Also do you need to have poison resist bow?

Just like every other weapon skill, you need at least 80 in a weapon skill and to be guilded and take the golem to br area and tell it to guard me and start whacking it. If you are not guilded it will damage you. People are saying it can only take you to around 110 weapon skill not sure tho since I haven't done it yet.

You don't need a poison resist bow but you need a bow that deals 100% poison damage (not sure if that is what you meant Snuggs). Golems have I think 90% poison resist, so if you use a bow that deals 100% posion damage you will do min amount of damage to the golem which is what you want when training.

A golem can take you to 120 in a weapon skill.
