Re: Events or Scenarios?

Sure

Scenario's are the long lasting additions that are in UO right now

The orc/savage items/art/additions/monsters/quests
The solen caves/art/additions/monsters/quests

Events don't add art, additions or new monsters, from what I know

There used to be a dedicated scenario team, but they got removed

"Events don't add art, additions or new monsters, from what I know"
You need to join in on one of Sonomas events then ...
we have had several things like that during different events ...

Sorry, I meant new animations, new monsters that last forever, new AI etc.

Re: Events or Scenarios?

As the sole voter (so far) for events I feel as if I must say why. Scenarios are great, don't get me wrong, if everything added with each scenario was to a T then they'd be #1, but since along with new things there are always (and understandibly in some cases) new bugs and exploits, events take the cake because pound for pound they both are new and exciting things, but events are less likely to bring headaches (other than lag).

Re: Events or Scenarios?

Aye I voted for events ...
our EM, Masara, is fantastic in creating storylines to get us really involved in the events ...
(sometimes we are not sure which direction we are going, but it still is a blast and we look forward to the next ones)
thats how we know we enjoy them ... cause when the events are not running we are asking when they (she) will return

Re: Events or Scenarios?

I went Scenarios.
Events, are in line with what Seers did. But they're short lived, and at hours that don't bring in everyone.

Scenarios, are 24/7, and have ebbs and tides. The Invasions were such a thing, but I think done a tad poorly.

Things don't have to add new fluffy stuff, but they can be reward giving, like the community quests.

Re: Events or Scenarios?

Scenarios definately. I've only seen a couple events on Great Lakes and they were lag fest, and unfortunately, jerk fest as well. Scenarios are longer lasting, people have time to participate, and don't usually have as high a concentration of jerks. (but they are there none the less)

My all time favorite scenario was the introduction of the Solens....of course I had an ant hill on my front door step! Great fun!! Killed anyone shopping at my house and I could hardly get home! What a blast.

Re: Events or Scenarios?

Voted scenario. Only so I get to participate at some point.
I have yet to see an event, only hear about afterwards. Always ask the peeps that got to attend one how they knew about it. Usually someone else in their guild messaged them to come, but they don't ever know how they found out.
"shrugs" finally gave up trying to be in the know heh.

Re: Events or Scenarios?

Problem is a lot of folks didn't play back then and have absolutely no idea what is meant by "scenarios"
Did you know that there was no such thing as bags of sending or solens or green orcs or orc bombers until scenarios introduced them?
