The backwards compatibility is one of the main things that I like about PS2 and PS3.
I had(*wimmpers*) a very large collection of PS1 RPGs, pretty much every PS1 RPG with exception of a bunch of crappy ones.
Also had a fair amount of PS2 RPGs.

I plan to buy them all back. Just need to find a site that sells them and doesn't want 79.99 for Final Fantasy 7....

Hmm i just thought of something else. We modded our PS2...and if the PS3 is going to be that expensive..there is no way I would risk modding it.

That might be a deal breaker for me! LOL

I found there was to many trashy RPGs on PS2. That was part of the reason i kept onto mine for a while. I realy didnt like FF10. Felt like a horrible game to play. About the only thing id even now look forward to RPG wise on PS2 is PSU. PSU is however also coming out on PC and i just dont think PSU fits the playstation. Same reason PSO flopped on XBOX.

Well if you didn't like FFX I pray to god you didn't play FFX-2.
Believe it or not FFX wasn't terrible, I didn't like the whole voice deal though was too awakward when they reffered to the main character as "him" all the time.
But as for RPGs on the PS2, I liked Suikoden 3, was interesting...also didn't mind Xenosaga or Star Ocean. Both those were awesome.

Well unless you plan on modding it to play imports I wouldn't bother with modding it.
PS3 Games will be on a Blue Ray Disc format, which makes them EXTREMEMLY hard to burn(near impossible, unless you wanna spend about 5 grand on just the equipment and discs).

Mm that's right..I forgot about that. Probably won't buy it then unless someone comes up with a way to burn and play games.

Don't get me wrong, we buy games, especially those we enjoy. We always buy to support them...but we just can't afford to buy lots of games hehe Which is why for the PS1 we have...hmm...1 legitimate game? No no...we have 2. The rest are from the net.
