If I buy one...it will definatly be later and not at release. And yeah about $700 CND is what I've heard from others...which is....umm....well let's put it this way. I can buy a lot groceries, gas and computer parts with that! lol

We're thinking of buying a PS2 off ebay for now..until the price of the PS3 comes down in a couple years.

I've read a lot about the PS3 and..wow...it's going to be something that's for sure.

But you see..I have to have Harvest Moon. I don't care what system it is..that game better be near it! hehe

Naw if you wait for the summer a new PS2 should be around 99.99 CDN.
Seems to always do that, 2-3 months prior to the new system the price drops to 100 bucks for the old system.
Happened with Super Nintendo, Happened with PS1, I am sure it will happen with PS2.

I am looking forward to PS3 because it will be fully backwards compatable with PS2 and PS1 games.

I just heard that the ps3 will be around $600 hope my hearing was off can't see paying that much just for a game deck! it had better wash my car and mow the lawn at that price.

Woof!, and then hit a pawn shop for the games. Usually can find a bunch of games there cheap.

Well the main reason I am paying so much for it, is because it is also a DvD Player, a PS2 and a PS1.

For the last 8-12 years i have had mates round every week (at times every day) for a night of gaming. We always found not only did nintendo and sega make better machines than sony, the games were a lot better quality. We are slightly biased in the respect we play a lot of multiplayers, but even then when comparing something like extreme G on the gamecube to the PS2, playstations inferiority realy showed

We enjoyed the original xbox, but i refuse to spend 50-60 quid on a game so i havent got a 360 yet. I also no longer own a PS2, and at the moment, dont like the look of the PS3.

*looks at his cupboard of something like 500 console games + multi rom cds with close to 1000 classic games on for dreamcast, an n64, nes, saturn, gamecube, atari 2600, 3 dreamcasts (dont ask), PS1, xbox, cd-i... and knows theres others at bottom hes missed*

As for Multiplayer games, Sony does get their butt whooped by GC and XBox.
However for RPGs(which is what I almost always play) Sony beats the two of them out of the part.
Although I REALLY enjoyed Fable(well the 4 hours I got to play it), and am actually planning on picking it up for the PC sometime this week.

Well I got a Xbox 360. Got it two days before Christmas. But one of the things that angers me is that I can't play a few of my favorite games since I got rid of the xbox thinking that the muitiplayer games would still be able on the 360. Like Mech assult which is a fun game both sole and muitiplayer. They have a game I got which is Robotech Battlecry which is mosty a single player game except for spilt screen. But I think they should have put the other robotech game on it because its more xbox style being a 1st/3ed person shooter. I'm glad sony is smart with the backward ability with ps games to the new systems which Microsoft should learn from if they wish to continue selling stuff. Plus the games are a bit high priced. Parents got me and my wife Need for speed: Most wanted and Perfect Dark Zero for christmas. They spent the same price for the ps2 or xbox copy with extras for a game without the extra. Perfect Dark Zero is a great looking game but let me tell you most things in it is a pain. You got no jumping like you do in Halo or Halo 2.
