Maybe now that the big time resource suppliers are gone, my minor may once again have a job :-)

Re: Email/Letter from Marion of RPGBay

Don't get me wrong, personally I'd rather it be handled by players than EA. But once again we're asking players for self-control.
Wonder what the Vegas odds are for player self control

Re: Email/Letter from Marion of RPGBay

Easiest thing for EA to do is set up a buy sting on Ebay and then when they come to deliver bann the account. Just needs to be done constantly. They could even recruit differnt players who are willing to cooperate to set up buy. Slow but effective. Works in law enforcement in the real world; it will work in UO.

Re: Email/Letter from Marion of RPGBay

Except they would be bidding falsely, with no intention of paying the seller, at which point would put two very large companies against eachother..EA and eBay.

Re: Email/Letter from Marion of RPGBay

I guess I'm curious why people would sink themselves to a level of distrust and fallacy. I mean, it is just a game not a business and is meant to be fun. I would gladly turn in the "duped" items I purchased to get my gold back! I spent a lot of hard earned gold on some of these items *just being nieve*. However, that was before I joined forums. Now I am most careful about the items I purchase. The question that I'm posed with now is... How can I tell if items are duped or not? Is there really any way without hearing it in forums or from other players?

Enquiring minds want to know :cheesy:

Re: Email/Letter from Marion of RPGBay

That is very true Terrance and I think there is a clause somewhere in Ebay that virtual items are not insured so if it not delivered too bad. No matter what someone is going to get screwed.

Re: Email/Letter from Marion of RPGBay

My natural response is to say "page a GM and ask them to check if an item is counterfeit" but it's such a broad, widespread problem right now that there really is too much out there for everyone to be paging a GM everytime they look at purchasing something. Besides, even then you'd need it right there, available.

And to interject something here that I think applies especially right now with all of this going on...never, ever listen to the "i know the gms, they know me, my items are legit trust me, im friends with all the gms". I've been seeing that used more & more to peddle all sorts of garbage when it's actually a very big no-no.

Re: Email/Letter from Marion of RPGBay

Aye If A GM had the time (And knew what they were doing) I'd like to have one simply go through my homes and banks and search for any duped items and simply delete them. I would't mind a bit of compensation... but I wouldn't as for it lol.

Sadly i've used her in xsharding gold in the past (like 5 years ago)

She admited it

she condemed it

and she appologized for it...

And she's back at it again...

Hypocrite and scum of the earth.

Re: Email/Letter from Marion of RPGBay

Everyone seems to be missing the point.

IT IS AGAINST THE RULES TO SELL IN-GAME ITEMS FOR RL DOLLARS.
