Interesting. I've been waiting to see more "evidence" from ebay, as all we've had thus far was heresay, auctions disappearing, and some live chat screenshots. Thanks for posting, Petra.

If everyone set up a paypal account it would be very possible.

people selling warcraft things - are selling the "book" and then you get all the other stuff for free.

catch 22.

Re: Ebay to ban the sale of Virtual items for games

Greetings, I am new to this forum.
Thou I have been on UO for over 8 years.
I am a periodical seller of gold and items, as in Vet rewards and gifts.
I relied on ebay as my selling medium.
This ebay policy hurts me because now I have all these things that I dont really need and have no room for in my banks.
I have 6 8th year vet rewards that I wanted to sell... but now I dont know where to sell them at. could some one please tell me which auction place sells UO items... and does UO allow a character to offer gold and items for real cash in game???
Thanks for all your help

Auction place people seem to be using now, is playerauctions.com
And no, you can't sell items in game for cash, EA doesn't allow people to advertise that.

Ya know, there are a lot of mana leech potatos out there. Just get drunk and pretend it was vodka. Being drunk leeches your stamina and mana right? There is your mana leech right there!

Re: Ebay to ban the sale of Virtual items for games

Here are examples of what eBay says are acceptable and not acceptable... I think if someone wishes to sell an item let them, it is a time investment... If someone else has the money to pay the real life asking price so be it. To not allow people sell or buy items like this will only make more people go to the disreputable places to sell/buy the items...

I would also like to say I have neither sold nor bought an item, may or may not in the future... Who knows? My oppinion on matters is all this is.

I say let people do with it as they want(not like I can run away to some other place taking an item with me so no other can use or have it, it is on the server and can be recreated), besides they still have to find someone willing to pay the price they ask and come on... $1400 U.S. for a house, I do not know many people stupid enough to pay that much... it is more than a real life house payment. But this is long enough so below is the examples, I see nothing in what ebay has written saying online resources for games will not be allowed to...

Examples of items that sellers are not permitted to list on eBay:
-------------------------------------------------------------
An MP3 file copied from a purchased CD or a concert the seller attended
An eBook for which the seller is not the copyright owner or an authorized reseller
A song purchased through iTunes
A movie copied from a purchased DVD
A video game that you copied from the original CDROM
A PDF file of a product’s manual for which the seller is not the copyright owner or an authorized reseller

Examples of items that sellers are permitted to list on eBay:
----------------------------------------------------------
An MP3 file of a song a seller wrote and recorded (and owns all rights to)
An eBook of recipes created by the seller
A home-made movie, in which the seller owns all rights
Computer software created by the seller, in which the seller owns all rights
Software listed by an authorized software reseller who has online distribution rights
A digital picture of the Golden Gate bridge taken by the seller
