I've done so many IDOCs.
So many tactics..tricks..dirty tricks...
So many times when there was good spirit and generosity, then other times when people were beyond greedy to the point of being spiteful.

I've picked through so many remains of characters' lives in UO. Sometimes years & years old. I've found books from their friends, gifts, things they've made.

I've found houses of players who obviously had played for quite a while, but had never amassed great wealth. The simpler homes are the saddest to see empty.

I've fought over IDOCs, "won" them, ran from them.

Anymore though, they're less & less fun for me. More of them tend to be post-AoS houses now...the same, custom boxes filled with BODs or neon garbage. With so many landmasses now for housing the spots themselves are almost never a consideration to me or anyone else there. It just feels more like "recycling" at this point. Okay, someone left, their 10x15 is falling and I got their BOD books, some translocation powder and their 47 plants. The house itself had no significance and was a generic block. *shrugs*

Its in a relatively safe place north of yew gate. It is in one of the northern peninsulas. We used to own 3 houses there, but since have moved, so there should not be many pvpers up there. Its a nice quite spot with I think a spot for an 18x18.

Reminds me of the time my mate was on and some random guy was spamming free tram tower. It turned out the guy was leaving UO. So he gave around 3mill away, 20mill in arties and his house all to Wayz. When Wayz gave up I gave the same tower to a noobie straight out of haven. I took all the stuff i wanted of course. I'm still accessed to the house, from what I can gather the guy is still playing and having lots of fun. He was really impressed by the gift. Hopefully he'll pass it on when he finishes. But be careful, some YOUNG players aren't really new at all!!! This one was, I made sure. I talked to hi before I ven offered him the house, seemed genuine. And besides there was nothing I wanted out of the house.

I've never done it myself, but I've always held that if you can preserve things from the history of UO then I'm all for people looting fallen houses.

If anyone needs help preserving UO history, Dip and myself would be happy to store your gold and artifacts in our vaults.

When I used to camp IDOC's it was in Fellucca, I used to take my red. It was more profitable that way ;)

I always felt kinda weird to actually sitting an IDOC. always felt like a vulture preying off someone else - they could have been banned or maybe just couldn't afford to play anymore... some of have been friends who had to leave the game and I'm there to gather up everything that i can in order to store it for them to have returned to them later.

I have for many years now gotten as many player written books from different IDOCs. Plucky's FAL guild on Legends has helped emmensely with this. So ... if you are on Legends and there is a player written book at an IDOC - don't let it rot. Pick it up and let me know

I dunno... its ok I suppose but its over ran with scripters so the average player wouldn't have a chance anyway.
