Re: do i need parrying

Shields of Invulnerability vary in price, but can be found usually from 350k to 500k. You can fight Paragon creatures in Ilshenar for a chance at one.

An alternative is to add Wrestling to your mage template. This gives you some defensive capability, including the special move Disarm.

If you want some purely defensive capability without the Wrestling skill, a combination of Anatomy and Evaluate Intelligence will keep you from being hit and subsequently fizzling so often.

Re: do i need parrying

Thats a possibility, adding wrestling. However on all of the mages I play I dont have a free spot for 100-120 skill points, so I use a staff of magi.

on my mage that uses pots, shield of invul is awesome
when i run out of pots i just throw that on for extra defense

wrestling is nice though if you have the points, disarm is awesome, and you can use a book-in-hand freely with reduced chance to fizzle when around mobs

Re: do i need parrying

I think wrestling would be better than anatomy but then again I would need to know what kind of mage you are using and if he is pvp or pvm.
