Well, I have an account on... welll, it doesn't matter where. But anway, I contacted a GM to ask them if I had to rename a few of my chars. The GM says "I see no need to rename" or something like that. And immediately afterward says "what woulld you like to rename your characert?"

I said, "No thanks. As long as the name is acceptable." He spits back "I will decide what is acceptable. What would you like to rename your char?" So at this point, I told him a name.

Here's the char in question: Jesus Christ.

Then I decided to rename two other chars myself. So I paid the twenty bucks so that "Sendero Lumiinso" and "Franz Von Assisii" wouldn't offend anyone either.

But, really... did I really have to?

I, myself, see nothing wrong with the name. I don't believe in all of that though.

The PC crap in the USA is getting totally out of hand though. It needs to stay out of the game.

Maybe if you dropped the christ part and used the Spanish pronunciation it would be OK with the GM powers that be.... *shrugs*

Man, I wish I had some names on my chars that were vaguely offensive. Id page on myself if the GM would change my name for free

Ah well, atleast I've got tons of carpentered, tinkered, smithied, tailored goods lying around that JC crafted before I changed his name.

If someone deems your name offensive for whatever matter, then a GM agrees with their opinion(its almost always an opinion, due to the fact that some names offend certain people for whatever reason), they'll change it for you. I also wish a couple of my names were deemed offensive so i could get a free name change. Oh well ;)

Yeah, isn't it scary that now the slightest bit of opposition creates change, and here I thought it was supposed to be the majority rules, silly me.

I see no problem with any of the names. I wish people would understand that freedom of speech means they don't have to read something or even listen to what someone else says and then get on with their own menial existences and have fun while trying to do that...

I agree that this is kinda out of control.

I agree wholeheartedly that some people need to lighten up, but that'll never be the case with a small few. Its funny how some GM's go out of their way to help on such matters like this, but ignore really important stuff.

Id venture to say that you didnt have to change it. I was just surfing MYUO and there is a "Jesus Christ" or "Jesus H Christ" on all but 2 of the North American and European shards as well as Oceania.

Some of the more colorful guild titles are "King of the Yews" and "Whos gonna save ya?"
